It is interesting to see how many microbrands using Seiko parts have outshined the company in quality control and accuracy. We all know of Seiko's lackluster bracelets, and it is great to see that other companies continue to step up the game. Perhaps this will be a wake up call for Seiko to get back on track.

@@Ferien7, I don't buy watches as an investment. For me they are tools. I also like unique. I like that only a couple of hundred people in the world have the same watch as opposed to the tens of thousands wearing a Seiko. To each his own.

the black uncle seiko waffle strap is super on spb143j1. i didn't like the heavy bracelet with the awkward clasp, and tried many straps such as the tropic ones, but the waffle strap is the best for these vintage seikos.

If anyone is looking to get one of these here is a real review. Not an ad. They’re ok. Not great. The rubber is pretty stiff, the pin holes are VERY far apart so good luck getting the fit you want unless you’re going to punch new holes. After all said and done they’re $46. If they were $15 they’d be awesome. And don’t let the under cut outs fool you. it definitely makes you sweat.

Yeah i bought this waffle strap a few weeks ago and it does not fit my wrist properly and it's really uncomfortable. Had to change to the original bracelet eventually. But it's still a great look btw. Some fancy retro still strap.

I own many of the Uncle Seiko dive straps and they are just fantastic. It’s always a special event for me when I get a new one and install on a watch. It’s one of those simple pleasures in life, and personally, I think they are far better than the standard, Seiko stock rubber straps that come with the watch..

I have a cheap beater, bright and colorful chrono divers that felt like tinsel bubble gum jewelry until I changed out the stainless steel to a black rubber strap. Made all the difference in the world. I also have a rather colorful Seiko PADI Turtle which, to me, looks great with the stock oyster bracelet. But now you have me wondering how much better it might look with the tire tread band.

I have an Uncle Seiko Waffle on my Turtle, and it's the perfect band. (I did heat it up with some hot water in the bottom of a coffee cup to contour it a bit, and it made it much more wearable.) I have to figure out what I'm going to do with my pile of NATO's now. (I also like to say Turtle and Waffle in the same sentence over and over. I never grow tired of it. Try it, it's fun!)

The stock Seiko silicone straps put me off rubber straps, because they were ugly and didn't sit flat due to the single keeper - plus they felt uncomfortable, and the metal keeper always pinched skin when being adjusted. Plus the soft finish staining / scratching. Since swapping for aftermarket rubber, couldn't be happier. Wears like a dream.

the first thing I did with each Seiko which came on a rubber dive strap, was to take it off and put on a NATO. I did put a rubber strap back on once, and wore it for an hour or so. I didn't like the feel, or the look; so back on with the NATO (but I can wear a G-Shock all day).

Somebody please explain why an original bracelet for sbdc063 is $200. The sbdc061 is pretty much the same price as sbdc063 and the silicone strap is nowhere near as expensive as the metal bracelet

Your the first channel I have heard give insight to the down side of the Turtle rubber straps Good to know, I had some of the same issues with the Omega rubber strap so I changed to the Omega NATO, after my watch went for a dive without me while fishing. Really pleased how the NATO wears. Love the Seiko Turtle and can not decide on color to get. Found a Blue Turtle at the Mall but the dial was off center. Hoping they will release a Orange Turtle so will hold out till then.

I was pretty disappointed by the v2 waffle. I was surprised by how thin and flimsy it felt, and by how short it was even in the standard length for my 7.5 inch wrist. I can only fasten it to two holes which makes it a little snug. When compared to a similarly priced strapcode chaffle strap, the uncle strap feels inferior. The one advantage the uncle waffle has is it fits the diver 2.5 mm spring bars, while the strapcode chaffle does not.

@@WristWatcher I ended up getting an own 20mm mm300 rubber strap off of eBay; quality and length are better in my opinion. It’s a little stiff to break in, but well worth it.

That waffle strap made the SPB look like the vintage 62 mas. I like the original bracelet, but it look more like Rolex Submariner wanna be. With the waffle strap, it gave the watch it's needed character.

Jaspal Dhillon the 20mm is a little stiff but breaks in after a day or two. The 22mm one is a version two and nice and supple. I've never tried wjean

The strap is much stiffer then casio's one. I think it shoul be mentioned. Looking good - no comments. Trying to shape the strap to my wrist and the wtist to the strap :).

True, Uncle Seiko has changed the formula so it is softer now. Older ones are more stiff

I bought uncle sekio strap. The strap stiffness isn't comfortable to wear. I been wearing it for 6 months it still has break in and very hard and stiff. I won't recommend at all.
