I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

I was just back in Maine, where I’m from, and I always love the waters right on the side of the highways and roads; swamps, lakes, ponds, the ocean, whatever. And when the beavers do flood it and there are dead, grey trees sticking up out of it….. I know it’s not great for those trees, but it’s so beautiful. But that’s what I find in a lot of places I go. ‘The side of the road’ just has such amazing views. Like driving through the midcoast on Route 1. It’s something I always loved looking at when I was in the backseat as a kid. The waters looked haunted, to me, with the dead grey trees. But not scary. Just hauntingly beautiful.

Got worried when the bog was just at your feet, and thought of the potential depth of the exiting end towards the river. Glad that you acted fast enough to not be carried out. Enjoyed the bog leaving the culvert, so thank you post. And definitely glad that you did not get washed out together with the bog into the unknown depths of that river and the sharp edges of the washouts Keep staying safe! ^^

Watching you walk over that seeingly normal looking ground knowing you could fall through and possibly suddening find yourself under the matt, unable to find the part where you fell through, was difficult but highly interesting video to watch. Very satisfying watching that big clump go. They don't use culverts much around here in our forestry plantations. They use huge ditches and the farmers then pump the water into their fields and dams. Eventually it flows into our water supply dams. There are 3 big dams for our region. Farms here are sorghum, lettuce, cauliflower, cucumber, sheep and cattle.

This is a use of the word "bog" I have never heard before and can't find anywhere. The only definition of the word "bog" as a noun that I've ever come across is a type of wetland. I think I'd expect these bits to be called a chunk or piece of the bog. Is this a usage local to the Northeast? This kind if thing fascinates me.
