Unclogging Releasing Huge Flow Of Water Into River

I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Pay attention to the ride side of the pipe at 6:40, you'll see a black spider crawl up the side of the pipe then a frog leaps out of the brush and has a nice snack...

You use the term "we" as in your audience is right there with you. You explain every step of the way & have multiple cameras set up. By the time it's completed, I think it's safe to say that your audience has been on & completed a mission with you as the leader (& the only one doing all the work). But, it's true that there's just something that calls many of us to the water, so to see it "freed" from obstacles & moving through & toward where it's supposed to go is a very cool experience. I can watch all sorts of entertainment on social media, but what you have & do here is, again, a mission. Thanks for allowing us to accompany you on it & feel the great rewards of water being freed.

I’m no engineer but I’ve always wondered why don’t they have grates at the front of the culverts? I guess the beavers would build dams in front either way. Great video as usual!!

Well there's a few different perspectives. Having a great at the end of the pipe makes it easier for a beaver to clog, but at least they won't build it in the middle where it's hard to get to. If there's a beaver dam in the middle of the pipe, you're going to need to use a telephone pole with an excavator to ram it out.

It's too easy for the beavers to clog. Then the water levels will get high enough. Where you can't get it off

Hi Post 10 :-) have you noticed that there is a frog that jumps for food (6:40) it jumps from the grass on the right side and onto the culvert and catches its food 🙂

It's amazing to see those beautiful landscapes together with your knowledge about wildlife and of course getting the water flowing again. 🤗 One question I wanted to ask you is one regarding your safety. Sometimes you are traveling to very remote places it seems. I was just wondering if you have something like a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) on you if your mobile phone doesn't have service for some reason. We can't afford to lose someone as special as you in case of emergency. Stay safe and keep doing the things you're passionate about!
