Hey man. Great update. I wish you will cut an opening on the side of drain. Making it so much easier to unclog. Taking out 1 bar will be big difference. Pretty sure land lady will be ok with that. Still can't figure out why it is divided by a sheet metal. Cheers man. Always a relaxing one to watch. 👊👍💪👊☺️

I was wondering too. I think it is to keep long, large limbs from going down the drain. A longer log would float through the openings but if it strikes something that keeps it from tipping over the edge, it won't have the opportunity to flip over and lodge either in or across the drain? Just my guess....👍

It's just going into a creek. There's nothing more to clog down there. That said, what should I have done with them? They were already in the water so they stayed in the water but just on the other side of the drain. If I put it on shore it's just going to blow back into the water and clog it again. I was surprised you didn't try to move that tree that separated one side of the trap from the other side. Unless you already know that it is too heavy or massive. This is another thing I want to put on my bucket list. I used to love following water to the gutters when I was a kid in Milwaukee. I would take a stick and push the leaves away. But I need womens waders now. Only ditches where I live now. Somehow they never seriously clog. I will have to find a creek.

I have a bad feeling that a lot of what you tossed down the drain is sitting at the bottom of that fall in a huge pile, because I saw very few lumps of stuff come out. I would have expected to see gushes of water, sticks, and debris rush out sporadically, not such a consistent flow as we saw here. There just hasn't been enough of a flow to push it out the sheer amount of debris build-up. If there is a buildup at the bottom, it was already there before you arrived. In the next storm when there is substantial flow, hopefully it will be enough to flush out the debris.
