LG channels are useful for additional content, like CNN. I dont use the apps much on my LG OLED as I find it a bit laggy switching between apps and live TV menus. Apple TV or Sky Stream is just a better overall interfaces for day to day use

Hi Steve fantastic video as always mate, I use my Sony Bravia tv it has android tv built into it, storage is a bit rubbish though only 4gb left to use after system software etc, it has youview built into it which is basically freeview and it has a sattelite socket too never tested it so not sure if it's freesat or just plain satellite. I do have a Samsung tv in bedroom that has Samsung tv+ on it, but i use the google tv chromecast on that as the apps on Samsung tv are a bit cluncky. I do have a Nvidia shield too which is mostly a plex server these days, i highly recommend plex you can stream your own content across your network it also has live tv channels and on demand content of it's own too.

@@stevemarruk that will not be available on current models, and will not be launching for at least two years. What benefit does that bring apart from not having to have an aerial, which 99.9 percent of people have?

@marcosgilson3578 I heard on the grapevine Freeview was coming as an app but like you say might be be a way off I don’t know.

@@stevemarruk there is already a Freeview app available on your LG tv. Freeview and Freesat have now merged in to one company called ‘everyone tv’. Eventually the DVB transmission of Freeview channels will transfer across to IP. This will not happen until at least 2030 though due to the availability or lack of it or full fibre. I suspect even then, that terrestrial tv in some form will be available for older folk. Whilst this happens you will see an increasing amount of channels launch extra services as part of a hybrid set up. An example of this is that on my LG TV - within the epg guide the BBC have launched IP versions of some of the BBC channels. As an example on channel 301 I have BBC Three in HD via IP, on 302 I have BBC Scotland in HD via IP. All the BBC are doing with these channels is effectively linking them to iPlayer. This will only be available on more recent models of LG tv . I have a C2 OLED

I find that apart from the built in Netflix & Prime Video that the other services are slow to load. I too have NOW tv & found it took ages whereas on the ATV it opens in seconds Will keep my boxes

Auyup Steve How’s you? Yes to a external device if you want guaranteed support for major streaming apps. Plex has a Plex live tv/dvr if you have a HD Homerun tuner. That lass’ top got of way to easily, hello Velcro 😘🤣 What model is your LG Telly? Now tv is just simply NOW at this point.
