Uncrucifying the Messiah: Archaeology at Emmaus, Roman Tyranny by Crucifixion, and Messianic Hope

If the Emmaus disciples could have reversed history, they would have uncrucified the Messiah. They were ordinary 1st c. people. They knew the horror and shame of the Roman method of crucifixion. It’s not what they wanted for Jesus. In this video, we look at what archaeologists have found in Emmaus (and how it’s connected to the ark of the covenant); the skeletal remains of a 1st century Jew who was crucified; what Roman politicians said about crucifixion; and how Jesus gave us the proper hermeneutic or interpretive method to understand how the entire Old Testament is about him.
