This is about the same time that "Phil and Quill" was a recognized blowing ensemble. (Not too many other 2-alto teams that I can think of.)

ive always believed that both Phil Woods and Sonny Stitt were every bit as good on alto as the great Charlie Parker .being they were both more lyrical in style .. Sonny's Lover Man and Laura were off the charts never to be played like that by anyone .. just say in
