Undefeated 87’ Jeep Cherokee XJ Build Off-roading After 35 Years Episode: 8

Finally after 35 years and so many weeks working on project 87 Xj budget build, its time to take it out on its first offroading trip. This is going to be a shakedown run and I’ll be trying to sort any issues that may need to be addressed before I take this jeep out on longer adventures. I’m so excited to get this jeep on the trail and use it for its purpose, nothing fancy just a capable Xj build. The question is will this jeep make it without any issues?

We live waaay off grid up in the mountains and this trail is so mild it doesn"t even deserve "country road" status. Haha

That’s cool , any waypoints on those trails? Always looking for more off grid camping spots. The trail is pretty easy but I’ve seen much much easier that the forestry call high clearance. Haha it’s not that the jeep did the trial. It’s that the jeep is still going after 35 yrs. That’s the value in this. Welcome to the channel 🍻

So far I haven’t used the tent yet on the xj , but I have two the other one is on my tj and I love it it’s been great for solos and the dog. It’s a bit small for two people but my wife and I manage it. 🍻
