It was snake bitten by coming out the same dsy as Tekken 8 but I have to say I'm about equally enjoying both.

The PC port of this game launched in an unfortunately bad state, and at first I was more into Tekken 8, but as time has gone on, Tekken 8 has kinda taken the wind out of its own sails. I'm getting really tired of the trend of modern fighting games emphasizing relentless aggression over every other aspect of fighting games, something Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 both lean really hard into. Under Night In-Birth 2 is really refreshing in that aspect, because it doesn't try to reinvent itself with new mechanics or tone down the high execution aspects at the expense of depth by removing options or making a questionably balanced "easy mode" (although it has always had a very basic auto combo you can mash on). It's not all about relentless aggression, it has a compelling neutral game, defensive mechanics that reward you for staying calm under pressure and giving you means to counter an opponent's offense, and it stays flashy and stylish without being overly indulgent (I'm sick of 30 second super cutscenes that happen every round). It's just a perfected version of an already stellar fighting game that has needed good netplay for a long time. More fighting games like this PLEASE.

I love how slim the characters are... and how clean this game looks... Some fighters are so full of effects and ridiculous costumes, you can't even tell what youre looking at anymore.

Thank you ArcSys for letting Cyclone Zero handle the pc port. Thanks to them, we lost 7,000 players in two days, and now we have basically 400 players. What a great publisher you are, ArcSys. I bet Bandai Namco and other publishers/devs appreciate your wise decision. What a terrible start. I hope the game can hold on for a couple of months, but sadly, another discord fighter and force to ask for games again. I sure do love me this new mechanic called creeping edge. Get out of the corner free card for me. Hopefully, and praying the opponent doesn't know what they're doing. Lol
