Under the Microscope! Samsung Galaxy A71 Charge Port Swap & Diagnostics

In this video, we're under the microscope diagnosing a charge board and replacing a charge port on a Samsung Galaxy A71. I'm still not used to doing port swaps, so... well, I guess you'll see where I messed up lol, enjoy!

i'll leave you a few tips. 1. The "chip" you were soldering back is the microphone, avoid using flux to solder it, just a tiny tiny bit on the pads, otherwise it will stop working. Also if you ever gonna use a ultrasonic cleaner, remove it before doing so, the ultrasonic kills the microphones (theres one in the main board also) 2. On these samsung phones (a30, a50, a70, a51, etc) the FPC connector on the main board breaks all the time, whenever i do anything on these phones i always reinforce the connector, and lots of times when it won't charge, the issue is there. 3. Avoid repalcing the whole sub board with a knockoff at all costs, most of them are shit and usually the only thing that goes bad in these are either the charging port or the microphone. If replacement is unavoidable, try getting oem ones.

Every time the FPC connector(typically on the motherboard but also on the flex itself) is the problem when it comes to charging(I mean 0 Amps on the USB meter, not this case, you had 20mA). For some reason samsung in their wisdom, used the big pins on the left and the right on that connector are used for positive and ground from the charging port. Those also break if the battery starts to swallow. Also it's not only on the A series, my Note 20 ultra had the same problem. On any other brand it's not a problem because are used as ground points, but not for samsung(also apple use those pads on the 3dtouch/touchid flex from the screen to the motherboard on iPhone 7 and 8. So if you have non-working touchscreen if this flex is connected, but it work if it's not, those tabs are the problem).
