I have the same multi tool under my seat along with the baffle for my exhaust and disc lock. I opted for the seat cowl when i bought my Z900 (from Gloucester) 2 weeks ago and the cowl comes off really easy. I have the rear seat in a box, but as my wife said she will never get on my bike I haven't tied to see how easy it is to fit. I'm also going to turn those bungs up the other way to see if it stops the Kawasaki way of wanting you to mount the tank when your out on a ride. Love the vids by the way and was the reason I went up to Kawasaki Gloucester on the off chance, who gave me such a good deal on my old bike compared to Fowlers in Bristol (Where I live) I ended up buying my Kawi from them

I guess you went to Frasers for yours then? They're not doing Kawasaki anymore, it has moved to Completely Motorbikes near Cheltenham. Glad you are enjoying the channel anyway.

Great video again, I've been researching OBD and looking for a solution since I bought a new bike two months ago. And now finally a solution, thanks you helped me a lot. I saw a video about lowering the seat, and I'm going to try it.. I don't have high expectations, I'm going to re-stitch it. I don't fly fast but low 🙂

I switched the seat rubbers on your recommendation, much better! I found myself sliding into the tank under hard braking resulting in nut compression. I think I can tip-toe better now,great tip thanks! Ps I can still remember the 70s' aaye

Frst off: great videos, mate! What I did was to get rid of the OEM toolkit and stored a tire repair kit from Oxford in it's place under the main seat. To fit it there I shortened the handles of the two metal tools. With that done you can fit both of these things, the strips and glue along with a CO2 inflater and a few CO2 capsules in the same space where the OEM toolkit was at. The Oxford kit comes in a pretty decent bag too so you can use that. Under the passenger seat I stored a self made toolkit consisting of the OEM screwdriver, a 10/12, 13/14 and 15/17 spanners, a small wrench with which has an extender for the handle and different sockets (both for nuts and also hex keys, different-sized phillips heads etc) and an extender for the wrench. Additionally some tape, a ton of zipties, some wire, small pliers, a small pocket knife, some bolts (in case I loose one) and a tire pressure pressure gauge. It all fits nicely in the space and nothng rattles around. It's all enclosed in a small nylon bag from a company called Bahco. Overall the tire repair kit and the self made toolkit cost me about €100.

Brilliant, thank you so much for taking the time to write all that up! It is what this channel is all about and I will be looking in to doing the same thing 🙌

Hi Mark. Just discovered your channel and as another Z900 owner am loving the content. Like others have commented here, I have no problem with my pillion seat popping off and it clicks on dead easy with no fonzing required. I must admit I struggle to get much under my seat. I have a disc lock and stand puck.

I think something on your rear seat is bent or adjusted wrong. Mine slides on and off super easy, one handed. No Fonzing on my bike!

never had a problem removing the seat even with the colour coded seat cowl which i use all the time now,space is bad and could easily been made better at the factory as theres plenty of space between seat and tire,that said i managed to get my puncture out fit along with a rocky creek motopressor pocket pump,great bit of kit.and my alarm siren horn as well,never new about the seat bungs might have a try,i keep away from ecu,s a bit much for tired ole brain.

Even if you patch your tire, how will you inflate it? I have the original toolkit, wheel lock and plate/insurance papers!

You can either decide to notice a deflated tire only whenever you reach a fuel station offering an air pump or you can carry a battery-powered air pump. Of course the latter option requires some bags like Mark put them on.
@bikerevz
@bikerevz Жыл бұрын
Its a fair point and I am thinking of carrying a small pump just to get a few psi into the tyre. Long journeys I carry a can of tyre weld, which also inflates the tyre, but that needs a bag.

Hi! Did you ever tried to reset the Dealer service reminder on the dashboard? (The small withe wrench ) . I wonder if you can use an OBD device, and which one. Thank you!

Hi, just had a look on OBD but no option for service reset. I did it through the buttons on the dashboard when I had one of those lights on.

@@bikerevz yeah, that was probably the oil service reminder the owner can set by himself, but Kawasaki also set a yearly remider, or a reminder that depends on a fixed amount of miles that the use can’t delete through the buttons. Only Kawasaki service can. And this I find unfair, why should I be forced to go to a Kawasaki garage? Especially if it is not nearby, or just because another mechanic can bd cheaper. I would also be able to service mu bike by myself. But I have to go to the dealer, spend time & money just to reset a reminder. Stupid. Anyway, thanks for you reply. In the future, you should manage doing that, please let me know!
