I have enjoyed your podcasts. You guys are a joy to follow. Here's my opinion. Let me preface this by saying that I am a donor, season ticket holder, OU grad in the class of 1977. I have seen a lot of OU football in my 70 years on this earth. I have seen this movie before and it is not going to end well. For 3 years under John Blake it was " coaches don't make plays, we need to quit making these stupid mistakes, if we can just improve here and there things will get better!!" Nothing ever got better and then enter Bob Stoops. Suddenly those dumb mistakes went away. We need to stop the bleeding now. Sure we will suck in 2025 if we cut BV loose. I have news, we are going to suck with BV. Things aren't going to get better under his leadership. He has not shown any improvement as a decision maker....bottom line.

Getting rid of BV isn't fixing anything. No coach can make a player catch a ball, make a tackle, or execute a block. You have to have players that REALLY want to play for your program. Buying the top players ain't working for Texas A&M.

I will start with this, I am very upset with Brent Venables and how he runs HIS football team. He is totally Aloof, with about Everything. I haven't seen this much mismanagement since John Blake. There was a few periods where even Bob Stoops got complacent, he had a very hard time getting rid of Coaches that needed to go, but when he first came everybody raved about how organized the staff was, the practices were dialed. BV is not that caliber of HC. I was shocked when Joe C gave him that extension. Barry Switzer got yearly extensions?! I will never watch another BV press conference, is is so full of - hit! People talk about bowl games and how this doesn't mean anything, it does to the kids, especially the Seniors. It is a chance to show fans that next year can be better. How do you all feel about 2025?

It's not looking good for the future of OU football... look at the portal talent we are getting, we have gotten straight FCS level players outside of Mateer and Sategna. From the outside, looking in, it looks like nobody wants to play for Oklahoma, we struggle to get 5 stars and keep/develop them, (*look at PJ for example, whys it taking him so long to come along?*) and we can not get the top guys in the portal. Our TE room is in jeprody, we night as well not even use one and start recruiting full backs. Helms is way too small to be a blocking TE, he got lit up by navy backers all day. We are so bad as a program right now, and I think the issues are A LOT deeper than on the field as well. Who is in charge of NIL? And why are they capping the talent we pursue? Why aren't we putting together collectives for portal talent? They say oh the money is there, but is it really? Cause football needs its own funds seperate from all other sports. The mismanagement of games has got to be addressed. Venables has done this MULTIPLE times through his tenure at OU, and hes lost every game hes Bsd in. He needs to manage the clock better, and get his team more disciplined false starts in week 13 is abysmal. We're not recruiting well enough either.. we are ranked 15th in recruting right now and 9 of the 16 SEC teams are ahead of us. OU is not recruiting well enough to even win the SEC, let alone make a playoff run against some Big 10 teams as well. This program is down bad...

Culture and lack of discipline has been an issue since BV took over. We are acting like ACL/MCL surgeries are that from 40 years ago. The Majority of the time players knees will be stronger than they were before. Gibson isn’t so,e small Hollywood brown type that has to have his speed or he’s worthless. Gibson has traits that even if, if if if, his knee was t the same that would still make him effective. The other thing that isn’t talked about when it comes to getting elite players is the fact it’s not BV’s responsibility to raise NIL money. If we can’t afford high end p'auers then whoever is running the NIL collective needs changed as well. If we do t have the money then BV can’t go get the players we need and all want. That’s on Joe C and the collective. Then it’s on donors big and small. Do we honestly think we have all of this money but they decide to not spend it? I sure hope not. We are using g the funds that are available and if we need more then the collective needs to figure it the f out

Good! Let those so-called fans go on out the door today!!! I’ll personally help them pack! Don’t want ‘em, don’t need ‘em, couldn’t afford ‘em even if we true OU fans did! Good freaking riddance! Go rush someone else’s field after beating a 7th-ranked team and costing the program/NIL 200k! I would have never thought that with a population of 4 mil, OU would need to trim the fat of ignorant fans that don’t understand this is a 1st time HC of great moral character, doing all the right things, with a helluva staff in place, dealing with trips to NY for cancer treatments, a banged-up roster, a WR room (who for the most part) that had loyalty to themselves and their money career over their loyalty to the team, an ineffective OC, rookie QBs, inaugural run through what’s considered the best conference in play, and an unprecedented era in college football where a coach is fortunate to field a team for bowl game, just to name a few glaring variables! And, despite it all, OU was close to turning the corner in several of those games. We had a chance to win today. We should have won in Mizzou in a night game. We gave LSU 3 quarters of all they could handle. We had Ole Miss behind the 8 ball to begin that game. Tenn could have easily been a win. SC & Tx were the only games OU didn’t look like they belonged on the field in the mighty SEC. Yet, those so-called fans you mentioned only understand win-now. They only peer into the numbers of the W-L column & they only check espn for the final scores. If OU can’t turn the corners in close games in 25 with an actual QB, OC, & healthy roster …then, fine. I’ll admit I was wrong & I’ll be silent about the firing of BV, the loss of this staff he put together, and the loss of players. I’ll even keep quiet about how I think that would set OU back a good 10 years in decline. But, before we get into all of that…I have yet for one of those so-called win-now fans to tell me; who’s the savior coach that OU is realistically going to get?

My God themGavin love is sickening. Instead of discussing why XRob wasn’t starting you guys discuss how they went away from GS? What do you think XRob would have done to begin the game with the play calls and the way they came out running the ball. The fact Gavin started is disgusting. I haven’t been one of the DM needs to go fans but I’m now at that point. The way that Arab has been handled and how psychotic the rotations has been along with the lack of development it’s obvious it’s time for a change. I’m as big of a BV fan that there is but keeping the offensive staff intact after what we have watched is going to end up being the end of BV and will continue to put the program further behind. Maybe with BA the RB room gets corrected but JJF still being employed today is just an obvious mistake to EVERYONE outside and probably inside the program. Why I have no idea but in no world do people keep their jobs when there is a complete failure at doing that job. EJ needs to go, everyone outside of BB needs to go so that the mindset and just the negativity that surrounds that side of the ball can be buried and new life brought into the offense. One thing also doesn’t change. You two guys and your brilliant breakdown of the state of our program. BV is a highly intelligent guy so why in the world does he feel captive to these coaches? It makes zero sense when your legacy is on the line. Just so disappointing

I think Mateer was given QB1 for him to sign with ou, good MW qb we'll see, MH is a passing QB, yes he can run but always looking to pass. I'm big MH fan, ou don't do him right. He should port

MH is not that good. Stop. MH looks confused and frantic if ANYTHING goes wrong after the snap.
@cecilshaw2074 күн бұрын
@lexingtonconcord8751 no MH is actually pretty good, anyone who's blaming MH for that L is delusional.

After sucking again next season, Joe C and every single coach on the team needs to be fired. Clean house and start over from the top. Joe C hasn’t done one good thing for OU football since hiring Stoops

Fire Joe Castiglione. End this reign of suck. Dude cares more about softball than football.

Joe C does not need to get fired! Give BV one more year. It is not Joe C fault. He has been at OU 28 years and he know what he is doing. He has nothing to do with the lost. You can’t blame the AD!

You guys made all this noise about talking about the overall program and then didn’t do it. This podcast was a nothingburger. Maybe when the DC leaves, you will begin to look at the overall program from the AD on down and the string of disasters key individuals made since the SEC conference accouncement.

BV is dead man walking. Admin has to start looking now. OU will be a f'n doormat next year. Hate that BV will be looked at as 1 of the 2 biggest mistakes in OU Football since WWII.

1. Kudos for the time y'all spent talking about Ethan Downs.👍 2. OU is reportedly spending over $3M/ season for Mateer, so heck yes he better be the 2025 starting qb.
