Hi! Have you check out the last video of Earthligh Ed? It's a short one. He change the starting question from "Why aren't you vegan yet" to "Veganism is a moral obligation" and I think that muddy the debate. Off topic question here . . .What are your thought on detoxing? I have read articles that present it as a fact and others that put it in quotes like "detoxing" as if it isn't a real thing. Some articles say it isn't even proven. It is used to explain the bad feelings or symptoms when changing a diet suddenly. I have heard the term used in various diets, from keto to juice fasting reboots, which are polar opposite diets. Even with starting probiotics, and of course "detox tea." Then the symptoms disappear as if the "detox" period is suddenly over. So is it real or just psychological?
@koirasikin2 жыл бұрын
The reason why sudden, dramatic changes in diet cause your gut flora (aka bacteria in your body) to adopt to something it's not used to. That's what explains why people might face some digestive issues after their diets change.
@erikaendokokubun6072 жыл бұрын
Hey! Not a medical professional here, but I have a degree in Biological sciences, so I have some basic understanding on how physiology/metabolism works :) Detox is real in the sense that your own body is always detoxifying! Which means your liver and kidneys work 24/7 to process and break down harmful substances to our body (think alcohol, medicamentions, etc). But it's NOT real in the sense that a certain diet/food will eliminate toxins from you (and what "toxins" are these diets talking about anyway...?). The effect some people claim to feel could be placebo, yes, but have in mind that these diets/foods add water, fiber and nutritious foods, which all have a good general effect in health. Yes, some products (eg teas) will make your guts "work faster", but that will result in you shitting more and has nothing to do with cleansing lol In any case, if you're experiencing intoxication to the point that your liver can't deal with it... You better hurry to a doctor and not to some crazy claim from the internet :)
