We are from South Africa and we have been staying in Gurugram since Feb 2020. We were very happy to see a Nando’s at Cyberhub😀. I must say, the price is the same as in South Africa HOWEVER, the portion of chicken is a lot larger than what we get in South Africa. So excellent job done for the India market. 🇿🇦🇿🇦

I didn't know they have Nando's in India. I'm from South Africa and Nando's doesn't serve cake here. They're competing with KFC now and have drive through. Ever since the drive throughs started, its not as tasty as it used to be. But it does very well in the areas where Indians live here. I've got one within walking distance from my house 🤗

I used to eat all the time at Nando's in Australia. Even though it's a bit expensive but it's deliciously addictive. One of the best food chain hands down. After watching this I am tempted to try it here in India now.

Have u been to connaught place. I went there and it was not bit expensive, way expensive. I got a bill of 1700 for 2 while in mc donalds its 350 to 400. Its 5 times the price And food was shit. Undercooked chicken, small portions. I mean 400 for 1 piece. Really. Are other branches like this or i ordered wrong food at wrong location

Hey Karl. Regarding the "authenticity" of foods, well, that's bound to happen simply because of the raw ingredients itself. For example, even the french-fries at McDonald's India - though produced with the similar process - tastes different on account of where the potatoes themselves come from. In the case of Nando's, you're right - i'd assume the extra cost is to try and make sure they stay true to the flavours as far as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if the sauce isn't locally made.

I work at Nando's in the UK. The interior is much, much brighter in India than in the few stores I've visited here. The chicken hasn't been grilled properly sadly but I'm jealous of how big the cake is! 😳

I think these fast food joints should serve the authentic flavours all over the globe. It's not just with India that they alter the recipe, if you look at South Korea, it's the same tempura batter in KFC without mashed potatoes and gravy. That's common for all Asia-Pac regions. Let's see when these regions can have Jolibee or Popeye's. India loves Karl Rock ❣️

I can remember when Nando's started in Johannesburg and there were only two shops, the were queues around the block. The guys who started it were originally from Mozambique. Peri-peri was bought to Mozambique by merchants from India. Nando's also have great TV ads here in South Africa,. Check them out.

Over in the UK where I come from, there is a place called Southall which is a district in West London. There is a massive Indian Punjabi and Pakistani population there and they have opened loads of North Indian and Pakistani restaurants/takeaway places there. These restaurants are not modified to suit local British tastes and the food is as authentic as if it were straight from the streets of say Amritsar and Islamabad. The Kebabs and Naans are incredible although on the hot side. I thought it was better than most High Street curry houses so unmodified food does work much like that Hyderabadi place you mentioned in Auckland NZ.

To be fair it's better for the franchise to have their own kind of flavors. I think it's more unique and excited that way. I do remember when I had my first KFC in the U.S it was super salty comparing it to what I had in Thailand which have more flavors in the batter in my opinion. Imagine if all KFC taste like the one in the U.S which is authentic recipe but could be really salty for some people. Not everybody taste buds are the same so it's a good choice that each and every countries did it on their own way.

I remember going to Nando's when it just opened in India. I liked the spiciness of the food but the overall taste wasn't good. Tried going back last week but the restaurant still isn't open in Mall of India. Hoping to try the peri peri chicken soon. Totally agree, if I make the effort to visit another country I want to eat what local people eat. You are correct, as far as UK for Indian food. There is a huge shortage of genuine Indian chefs over here too ! Must say if I visit overseas I am into the local food, the more locals eating it the better. Keep safe all of you.
