How old is the times on undercover boss is that people have complained to the CEO of the company and for some reason sometimes the guys work underneath him or her don’t give her the message or him the message Or maybe they do but the CEO is not realizing how bad it really is you know and how hard those people work their butts off That’s why I like that they do that I wish the CEO of the grocery stores like Walmart or Costco even would go undercover and experience. What do employees have to go through every day and the fact that it’s probably hard for them to buy food because they jacking up the prices a little bit and a little bit until you have to pay five or six dollars extra do you know Eventually, that’s not gonna be much of a discount because employees get discounts do you to buy their food well, their discount is not gonna be much of a discount anymore if they keep doing that. Well, and not only that the customers to who love to shop at Costco and Walmart and those other grocery stores in Orillia and Barrie two as well, you know in Ontario in general They’re jacking up the food price on everything since coronavirus and I don’t think that’s right because yes people are starting to go back to work and yes people are going back to making lots of money. But by the time they pay their mortgage and their gas bill, you know to fill up their vehicle and you know and the pay the Hydro MTV their cable your phone bill every month like nobody can afford to eat as well So lots and lots and lots of people that make like $20 an hour go to the food bank because at the end of the month they don’t have money left they probably have only $100 or $200 well that’s not gonna feed them for a month you know Because of the food prices you spend over $200 in a day for food. So $200 is not gonna go anywhere much because once you buy your family food in the store, it probably cost you over $200 a week to get food So yeah, that’s why I I am pissed at the CEOs of Walmart and Costco and the other grocery stores Zhars I can see I totally understand why that store is expensive because if you go in there it’s really fancy it’s a fancier store right so of course it’s gonna be more expensive to shop there because they have a deli counter. They have people that bake and cook as well, so yeah. But it’s not like Costco do you know even though Costco does have a restaurant and they do have chefs there that bake and cook as well it’s not any fancier in Orillia than any other Costco you know so I just don’t understand why they feel the need to cash in more money when people can’t afford to buy it in the first place
@leighhoppins9273
@leighhoppins9273 Жыл бұрын
So yeah, that’s why I’m saying that you know it’s probably employees that have complained about the prices because the employees probably have a lot of frustrated customers that aren’t happy with the way the jacked some of the things up Like there was a lady an older lady that was buying a big bag of chips all right that was the first thing she picked out was a huge big bag of chips because he probably didn’t have enough money to buy the healthier stuff so she probably just went to the back and got the chips and was going along to see what else she can afford to buy. There were a lot of people in the food section this time, but I can tell you most of them people had a lot more stuff for weeks ago you know the carts were full like overflowing pretty much because the prices were decent. And then all the sudden boom they just jacked them up and so when they did that not too many people were in that food section and even the ones that work today you know A lot of their carts weren’t overflowing like they used to be because they couldn’t afford that much stuff anymore. A lot of people were buying like very unhealthy things because the items that were not bad like the frozen fruits and vegetables do you know who are more expensive than you know The the peas that are made in the chip forms do you know do you know them, crunchy chip peas you can buy, and they’re flavored. Yeah, those are both probably the healthiest thing to chips they can afford to buy. Yeah, a lot of people are buying not very healthy things anymore because they’re fruit and they’re even there. Frozen stuff was pretty expensive depending on what you got but still it’s more expensive than it is in the grocery store So a lot of people weren’t in that section at all. Like it’s stupid very very very stupid and I don’t understand that one bit.

So I just wish that whoever owns Costco in barrie or Orillia Sudberry, even you know it doesn’t matter who it is I think if it’s a franchise and 17 or 18 people own different particles you know I think maybe 10 of them including the ones in barrie and Orillia should go on your cover and experience what it would be like to make a minimum wage and to do all the work they do every day and then see if they can afford to eat Because I can certainly tell you the employees that work at Costco probably don’t have much of a discount because of how expensive the food is so their 10% or 20% off discount is probably more like eight or 9% off by the time they have to pay to feed their families or themselves even So yeah, that’s why I like the show because I don’t think the boss really does care until he gets or she gets in and does the work and then find out how hard it is to actually do that job and then find out that they don’t get paid enough you know Because a lot of them CEOs think you know it’s really not that big of a deal you know it doesn’t look that hard. It’s obviously not that I heard you were just complaining for the sake of it. Well, it’s not until they getting to that position and oh my God those people that go undercover they’re really shocked of themselves and you can tell they sound very embarrassed of themselves. No, you can tell that they are really really ashamed of themselves, because I like does CEOs that on Costco when they opened up that store, it probably wasn’t as hard for them you know, but then, as it gets bigger and bigger and bigger, you start to get a whole bunch of people, you know that you team up with to make your franchise bigger and then you stop doing the work as much and then you forget how hard it is to do it. So yeah it’s not that they get out there and it’s like why don’t really care you know he deserves to make minimum wage. I don’t care as long as the cash and you know. Like no, they get to a point where they feel shamed and stupid that they let their employees feel hurt and feel down right because a lot of the people that get hired the CEO doesn’t realize that they’re cashing in on the peoples money including the customers money And they don’t realize behind the scenes why they’re doing that job and they don’t realize the gravity of how important it is you know because a lot of them people are very hard on money. You know a lot of people come from countries that don’t have any training any background training and they just pick up on the job like that and they’re very good at it but And then there’s some people that come off of drugs you know, drug addictions, and they’re trying to find their way in the world you know I need money to do that so yeah. They don’t realize that the work that they do for customers and for other employees to they don’t realize how important it is for them you know It’s easier to say “do you know what I don’t give a fuck, as long as I got money to feed my family and to buy nice fancy vehicles and you know then, and it doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks” Until they actually get into that position where it’s like“crap you know I can’t believe these employees. They work their butts off all day doing very, very very hard work, and you know this one employee man here she has a great attitude, knowing that her parents are not well and she has to work to provide for them you know “ Like they honestly feel like they’re a failure because because it seems like the CEOs of the company, love their family so much, and they forget that everybody else has families that need to be fed and looked after and provided for you know A lot of elderly people to like young people in middle age people like they don’t realize that they are family members to that they need to provide for you know. They don’t realize that they’re trying to get their way in the world to end you know so it’s so easy just to be selfish until you actually get into that line of duty again and then it’s like damn what kind of CEO am I this isn’t what the company is represented at, you know this isn’t what Costco is supposed to be this is why I open Costco in the first place, you know Sooooo I think they have that experience makes him realize that they have to do better at running their business you know, and making sure that the employees and the customers are happy.

Most likely he didn't. For tax reasons there's a lot of rich people that give themselves a Salary of 80K per month. Most their money comes in other forms. You want a raise and that's fine sure but really it does nothing for you. Let's imagine if every company gave out a 1 dollar raise to every employee. You'd actually have less money cause ALL those companies would raise prices to pay for that raise. Inflation is inherent to the system and that's the real problem

He's a hard-working man who deserves praise for the kind of work he does outside in the hot sun without cold water, who can't spend any quality with his family because of the workload he has to do, and with the CEO pretending to be an employee can learn what his employees go through daily, and appreciate them. You can't find good employees who would consider doing a job as this man does nowadays, for they're far and few between.

I like how he provides one free holiday to a single employee.... Like that will fix being away from home 90% of the time for other employees.... Sure it was nice he did this for this one guy. He could have also adjusted time scheduling so his employees were home alittle more then 10% of the time... It would kill off an on going issue.... This guy after that single holiday will go back to 90% of the time being away from home for god knows how many years...

I was supposed to start a job for a tree cutting service when the boss told me I need to bring a cooler or something for water so I could have water to drink because they don’t have water to drink. Needless to say I didn’t show up because someone who doesn’t take care of their employees does not deserve employees

How often does a new hire show up at the jobsite with a camera crew and no one questions what is going on ? I NEVER had a camera crew in Orientation or come along on a test ride in the cab when I road-tested new hires. There would be questions asked....

I just started a new job welding in a hot fab shop. Found out yesterday they dont provide water or a restroom. They have a porta can outside the shop. They also charge $6 when you need a pair of gloves. I had heat stress yesterday. Came home threw up and muscle spasims. First company since 1990 ive worked for that didnt provide water or a restroom .

Not surprising that a company in Texas (a right to work state) doesn't even provide water or a place to go to the bathroom. The governor took away water breaks for the state employees fixing roads, etc.

It sounds like only that one employee gets a single paid vacation with expenses included. The rest of the changes were sweeping, benefitting all of the employees. The new boss failed to address perhaps the most difficult and most important pain point of that job, being away from your family. 90% of the time? That is crazy and a single vacation for one man (and his wife) does nothing to fix it.

I wish he’d come to my job , I work in a all inclusive resort and we get to use the bathroom in a non ventilated box that always smells like urine and crap as well but the director gets his own private bathroom as far as the water goes we get to not grab any although they bottle water bottles from a cenote which means they pay little next to nothing to bottle it up.
