I used to work along with Pathan guy and one time I forgot to bring my lunch food and when I said him that due to rush to work didn’t get time to prepare for food and later he brought something to eat and when I offered him the money he refused it I was very impressed with his generosity.

They are very very very hospitable.....i was in Turin last august and the person working at the corner doner shop gave us a free doner saying we were his guests ..he was from pakistan and we are indian..i have pakistani relatives whom i have sadly met only once when i was 16 years old and never again apart from a cousin in Rome last year who wined and dined us in style as usual they are are most charming loving and hospitable of people ..my husband too always finds he makes friends with pakistanis easily ..they are very simple and good hearted ..

In Pakistan when people eat they share their food with each other, Welcoming guest is one of the preaching of Islam, welcoming guest is also a part of tradition in Pakistani people. Few decades back Pathan people were famous for their hospitality, whenever any body visited their areas in the villages they offered them free accommodation, shelter and safety. In Pakistan there is no cast system so people treat each other with respect. Last 30 years were so bad for Pakistani people because of Afghan war ,drugs and due to corrupts regime but now Pakistan is changing , you will see a same old hospitable Pakistan soon . In Pakistan it is a culture friends pay for each other, Sharing is caring. Come in Ramadan streets usually full of food for poor people .

Since 1947, there has been an Indian government policy to bring Hindi closer to Sanskrit, and that's why Indians now use words that are unknown to Pakistanis. When Modi speaks, I understand only about 70%. However, Bollywood Hindi is still closer to Urdu because India wants to market its movies to Pakistanis and Bangladeshis as well. It was also a tradition in Bollywood because many of the actors, actresses, and song writers came from Urdu-speaking families. Hindi, like Urdu, also has many Persian/Arabic words, but the pronunciation is vastly different. For example, Persian words starting with "z" are pronounced with "J." I am still trying to figure out what "andolan" and "suruksha" mean. Perhaps you can tell me.

@@gogadev The minority population has pretty much stayed the same since 1947 in West Pakistan. Pakistan previously had an eastern wing which became Bangladesh after a civil war. Most non Muslim Pakistanis lived in East Pakistan. The main plight of people from Minority Faiths today in Pakistan is due to poverty and human trafficking gangs. Such gangs tend to traffic poorer Pakistanis which tend to include a lot of minorities. There is also a Blasphemy law which is difficult to remove due to the large influence of mafia who use religious cults to their advantage. As Pakistan's economy grows, the plight of Pakistan's minorities will greatly decrease.

This is true! People here are so good at hospitality. Go to a random tea stall and try talking to them, they'll immediately state that you're an outsider by the way you speak. And they won't even ask for a single penny instead they'll offer you a Coke and insist you to have some water & they'll even give u a tour. (actually a lot more than this) even me & my friends freak out when we see someone from abroad we wouldn't resist but offer them everything we've got.
