Its actually quite incredible the importance of being a good leader. It's ace the way limit Max not only praises people, but the way he asks people to do tasks "help diamond, please help diamond, please" in a calm way, then finish off with "good". "this is perfect". Constant narration before whats going to happen and what theyre going to do. Then describe what they need to as its happening. Phenomenol display of good leadership, calm temperament and knowledge of the encounter. It's actually changed the way I approach raid leading to try be calmer, narrate a little more often and try to give good remarks when people do well - already seeing improvements. Awesome guy, love the content.

You should do a series like this where you raid lead with 1 random actual mythic guild for 1 full raid every week to help them where they know ahead of time it’s you (not undercover). As an experiment to see like how well good raid leading in mythic can carry. like how it was on Hungering in this video. And release like a montage video of that raid once per week. I’m sure there are a lot of guilds in the 3/10M-7/10M range that would totally be down for that to collaborate with you. Could do like a different guild every week type of thing.

Update on Waffle House Brawlers, one week later: I’ve been raiding with Waffle House as Brewmaster for the past two(ish) weeks (DK raid lead went to UH). We’ve downed Huntsman twice, and are getting good pulls in on Hungering. Haven’t been able to down it again, but are getting closer each night. I’ve done about 25 pulls with them, should be able to get it next week. Cool to see this video, just thought I’d give a “Where are they now” update. Fun guys, and I’ve enjoyed raiding with them.

Almost software engineer here: The reason his name change didn't apply instantly goes a LONG way explaining how Blizzard servers work. My theory is that their servers are AP (they prioritize availability and partition - fault tolerance). See, there's this theorem called the CAP Theorem that states that you can't be consistent, available 24/7 and partitioned at the same time. Which makes sense, if you think about it. If you have separated nodes that replicate the data, you're protected from completely losing all your data in case one of the nodes stops working. But that also means you have to be updating all the nodes all the time. Here you're faced with a choice: Option A: you temporarely "shut down" until every data node has the last version of the data Option B: you accept the fact that you might be responding "old" data but you always answer In Max's case, Blizzard is showing him the new name Ghoulgranny (new data) but the character still has the old name Thundercraig in other nodes 18:42, so the people in his raid still see him with the old name (old data). Something similar happens with server transfers, if you've ever noticed. Very interesting shit. P.S.: I love this series

This was awesome man. I think the way going forward is definitely stay undercover in mythic and then help out when they're struggling or you're blown. The heroic undercovers were cool but it's definitely way more satisfying to see you lead a team to victory when they otherwise wouldn't have had a chance without your lead. Also probably more comfortable for you because I can tell you're worried about seeming douchey or stealing the raid leader's thunder by stepping in on heroic/normal.

I'm 3 years late, but I remember my average top1000 guild took some 30ish pulls to kill Hungering Destroyer. It's insane to see how good raid leading makes such a huge difference, that you can just pick up a random guild with people who had never killed the boss and get it down in a few pulls.
@reaperish3 жыл бұрын
I think there is space for a happy medium between full undercover and taking over raid leading like a lot of people are suggesting. I definitely love the undercover aspect and I think it is good to keep that. Maybe instead of getting rid of the undercover entirely, drop more hints/advice to the RL when there are some slight struggles. Only take over when you are fully exposed or when the group is in danger of falling apart. I think that would be a good compromise without getting rid of the whole idea of this series

@givemeurhats3 жыл бұрын
The name change doesn't take effect for other people until they log out and back in. So the best way to go incognito would be to either transfer a character to another account (so they can't see your io) or to do the name change almost a full 24 hours ahead of time.

I thought of a better tactic, that worked for us on hungering, and we were able to pull it off quite nicely after that. Give the people with miasma the task of leeching, so that you dont have to call out the leeching at all, while people without miasma are just standing on the markers. Miasmas have the responsibility to take care of their HP and not overleech, everybody else will then just be free to dps/heal. When resetting the stacks during consume, people only move into their markers once they drop their stacks.

This is what the people need to see. You don't need a Disci Priest to kill Hungering Destroyer. A Disci priest ( just for the sake of a disc ) is not going to propell you forward 8 Mythic Bosses. A good raidlead does. Not a class. And remember that 80% of the disc priests are superb bad ( and that's okay ) but it doesn't justify them rolling Disc just because those guilds told them to.
@benny4893 жыл бұрын
Hey Bro there is a Disc priest in the raid. Spirit shell is also mentioned By Max and it helps a Ton
@benjaminwagner12073 жыл бұрын
@@benny489 yea, sure it Helps and I know there was one. But does that justify all the guilds looking for a disc priest just for the sake of one even if they are bad? No. A guild raidlead is 1000000 more worth than getting a disc priest is what im trying to say
@gorbang553 жыл бұрын
