Hey UPK! Great video man learn so much. I had a quick question I’m thinking of spraying my car A Mazda Red 46V I heard bad reviews about the paint and I was wondering if you’ve ever sprayed that color? I even seen a video where they used an extra 3-4 coats since the paint is “thin”. Just need a little more understanding on it. Like always great videos 🔥.
@UndergroundPaintKing2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you checking out the videos and I haven’t sprayed that color but I would imagine that if you have heard of it being thin it could be a cheaper brand being used and possibly causing it to not cover well…it’s a few things that could play a part of it getting bad reviews but I think it could possibly still be a good choice if a quality brand is being purchased

I tried using hvlp with the small compressor got and it got a lot of orange peel sanded it down with 320 and applied basecoat about 3 coats and about to apply last coat of clear on the hood top and front right and left panel. Gonna take the hvlp gun back to Harbor Freight I actually have two be better off just selling both of them because can't paint good with them with the small compressor got anyway. Harbor Freight don't see any lvlp spray guns so gonna have to get more from Ali Express.
@rich16013 Жыл бұрын
So you need typically between 15-25 CFM to operate a quality HVLP spray gun perfectly while to operate a conventional spray gun you need 11-15 CFM.

UPK, great vid! Question..I'm going two tone with a narrow black stripe in between the top and bottom. Should I bring the top (red) all the way down to bottom (silver) and spray over the red with my black or leave the gap and tape both sides to get my black on? Thinking the lines might not be too thick if I bring the red down. Appreciate you bro!!
@UndergroundPaintKing2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you checking out the video and you definitely can bring the red down to the silver then tape off for the black and it shouldn’t be to thick but if you feel that it is and you want it to be smooth and it’s in your budget you can do a flow coat and bury your lines

Hey I have a question for you I know you're not shooting a single stage on this 2 tone but I did. I waited 8 hours for the bottom half to Kier it wasn't tacky to the touch so I masked it off with the 3M painter's plastic so i cam paint top half. Top came out really good went to unmask the bottom half and the plastic stuck to it leaving plastic marbling make designs in the paint. Did I not Wait long enough to let it dry before I before I messed it off and is there a way to get that nasty mark ls out
@UndergroundPaintKing2 жыл бұрын
You may have needed a day to wait for masking, it’s hard to really give you a good answer without knowing the products you used and what’s recommended by the manufacturer of the materials you used

@@UndergroundPaintKing It said 6 to 8 hours on the can. The paint was good to touch it wasn't sticking to .y hand but ya man when I remove the plastic it was sticking to it a left marks all in the paint.. Is there a way I can fix this you think if I just wet sand the single stage paint and reshoot the bottom half it would be good or do I have to strip it all down
