My compressor regulator is at max. My inline regulator is at 100 psi. My paint gun set at 30 psi drops all the way down to around 25psi when compressor is off. While the other regulators are still reading high. Wtf

Whats the best setting with this gun spraying single stage

I finally put mine together and having problems setting my air pressure.It keeps dropping to 0 and goes to 20 it won't adjust to the number i want.Is the regulator on my gun defective or user errror.

been using autobahn clear for years and it is just as glossy. for about half the price.

I told you about the trailer I have to paint if you remember. It's for a friend. The trailer has a 6X8 bed, but it's 14 feet from the back to the front. He also wants the wheels painted. Considering I have experience, what should I charge to paint it? I told him $400, but I would like to know what you would charge for the regular guy coming in looking for a Rustoleum job. I'm still using a spray gun, but I'm painting it outside on a tarp. He doesn't want to spend much money. He already paid for the paint.

I bought the Fortress 27gal 200PSI air compressor today from Harbor Freight. They even gave me a free air impact gun. $120 gun. SMH. They're stepping up. I think I'm set now. I have a 155 and a 715. They both are outstanding and i use the 715 more for clear than my Devilbiss DV1-C clear gun since the output is twice as much with as fine as atomization. The white derlin piece in the back of the nozzle is not a gasket its a bushing. The gasket was between the nozzle and gun body

Great gun sprayed 30 cars with it and only one had to be buffed, but the black widow HTE can't be beat on clear, l use spectrum HTE for base and widow HTE for clear and putting out show quality

Spraying at 75% overlap, 35PSI at inlet but air pressure drop thru gun puts it at 10-12PSI at the cap. This correct. As far as orange peel in the clear, that could be sanding prep (400g for solids, 600g for metallics, 800 for pearl two part base). Plus increase pressure like you said, slow down movement, correct temp on reducer, or flow coat (Double Clear). Spray inner clear, called inter-clear by some manufacturers, but 3 coats, let sit to shrink if time allows for 5-7 days. Then wet sand at 600g, clean & spray high solids or European Clear for 2 coats (Charge Extra) but if done right, no cut & buff! UV protection package raises to the top of clear, wet sanding removes it. This shortens the life of the paint job. (Tech Tip; Spray inter-coat clear for use under flames, scallops and other graphics) otherwise you may get a haze between clear coats. "SprayAway" does this over vinyl decals and pinstripes sealing then in. Great review of this spray gun. The R500 is sold by several companies as seen on Amazon, even $88 for gun and 4 tips, caps and needles. Thanks. ASE Master tech since 78.

I just watched this video after ordering this gun today. I was mainly looking to see how to set the gun up, but it turns out you used the same compressor my brother has. I have to repaint the hood on his truck using single stage paint, as he is totally against base/clear after it started falling off from a bad repair job a body shop did on it after a wreck. I painted it last year with Rustoleum spray cans, but it's peeling in one place. I decided to get this gun, and strip the hood, then put good paint on it. Now I have to go watch your video on setting up the compressor. Thanks for the videos UPK!
