Insults , picking me apart behind my back , false accusations, projecting.. been their thing, lately. " Thank you, noted. " Walk away. If they persist, " I m not convinced ". Walk away. If it done in public, silence and absence. Let everybody see it for themselves

I experienced all of these with my ex husband and sister. Looking back I realised they did this out of jealousy and to trigger me! Unbeknown to me my ex husband convinced people I was mad. It got so bad I was suicidal. The underhanded comments eroded my self esteem and confidence.

Mine did the same because I'm diagnosed with depression and anxiety he started telling people I was going crazy especially my son and I have serious health problems so he was telling my son I was purposely not taking care of it to kill myself which was totally not true I've always been diligent about following what my doctors tell me. I did have one psychiatrist that had me on so much medication because he didn't realize I have treatment resistant major depressive disorder and just kept giving me more so I was in like a fog and once I realized the side effects I was having I quit taking everything and went to someone else but once the fog cleared it was also very clear what he had been doing and then I started calling him out asking why he would worry our son like that and how mean it is he said I was right and he wouldn't do it anymore and then text me the next day and said he'll say whatever he wants. So that was that. So I totally understand and it's horrible because people don't know any better and start believing them. Luckily my son came to me in private because he was concerned and asked what was going on and I told him I don't want to bash his father but I'm also tired of everyone not knowing my side and the things he was saying aren't even true. You know at that point you just have to walk away. I'm not going to let him make me act like him and out of character.

Thank you for great advice Rebecca. Narcisists are all about power and control games and the best way to beat them at their own game is NOT to play the game. Consider them irrelevant and walk away.

Yes. I put up with these tactics from my toxic family members, especially my mother and grandmother from early childhood. And there has always been toxic and dysfunctional sibling relationships.

Yes!!! My abuser gaslighted me for 3 and a half years. One of the things he always did was he was always cheating, and every time he was with someone else, he would accuse me of cheating. He would accuse me of doing everything he was doing, and he would beat me for it. A lesser form of gaslighting was he would say, "Wow, you look great, but why are you wearing those shoes? Or Wow, you look amazing. Who are you dressing up for? You never get dressed up for me. He even took pictures of me one time, and a month later, he told me he found these pictures of me, who took these pictures of you and sent them to me??? And he beat the hell out of me for cheating and taking the pictures and purposely having the person I was cheating with send him the pictures to hurt him and then proceeded to demand that I tell him who I was cheating with and every time I said that I'm not cheating, things got so much worse. Gaslighting is dangerous and detrimental to the victim. 😢

the most heinous lies are the ones that have enough truth to them to sound true. a lie is a lie no matter how much truth was included in telling it. Logic states that if something is partially a lie, it cannot be 100% true,

Oh yes. I've heard this one. Everything he's done is all in my head. Lying, omitting me from his affecting since having breast cancer and kissing his new love interest with me present. He's such a jewel. Preparing for divorce. You can have him Page.
