DTGL is elite status and not even the best UØ album. Chasing Safety is the goat album in the entire genre, period.

Absolutely Amazing! But I think we have to take a moment to appreciate just how incredible Spencers voice is sounding these days! Wow! Always been amazing but these Observatory shows have really showed off what a killer vocalist he is! :)
@joeymoehlenkamp10973 жыл бұрын
He really good here but you can tell his voice is straining a little bit in between his lows and highs but also room for improvement and as far as I see he keeps getting better and better
@christiankettlewell3 жыл бұрын
This song was the first kind of heavy song i ever liked. At 14 or 15, Reinventing Your Exit (and Hawthorne Heights) opened me up to liking screaming, when i only ever enjoyed pop rock (Relient K basically) before that. Friends tried to play me stuff like Zao and Becoming the Archetype but it was really DTGL that got me hooked, beginning with this track. Now i love it all, and all genres.

2:44 is one of the best live screams I've ever heard from Spencer holy shittttt

Dude you can tell Spencer's vocals are exhausted from the years, but holy fuck it adds so much grit that I can't help but love. Underoath will forever live as one of the top bands in the genre.
@joeymoehlenkamp10973 жыл бұрын
Yey I can tell Spencer’s lows have gotten better def needs to work his highs and lows more but this is the best he’s sounded in awhile but more practice he will get even better and better

Wake up! Wake up! My God! This is not a test! And it's not too late to come clean Get it off your chest So steady your hand before your face and concentrate There's got to be some stable ground Left to walk on So tear another page from the book Are you asleep or just alone? Clear this room from your lungs Pull yourself together Pull yourself together, man Pull yourself together Pull yourself together On your back You're sleeping in a bed of shame Let the light breath some new life into this room It's what keeps you coming back Made up of insatiable taste Bury your head in your hands And sink into yourself Oh! Just what are you so afraid of? What are you so afraid of? You're staring truth in the face So come on down What are you so afraid of? You're busy living now, aren't you? (No!) You're busy making vows You're coming unglued Time is shorter than you know I know the light is blinding to the naked eye So why don't you take steps away from being alone? I swear, it's not too late for you It's all worth reaching for It's all worth reaching for It's all worth reaching for The hand to pull you out It's all worth reaching for The hand to pull you Out Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! And step outside your box Wake up!

I always get so nervous when I see bands cover their older songs cause I know it’s not always going to be the best ( though I still appreciate their work. But but this... I did not expect perfection ! I did not expect for my edges to get snatched that quick. No warning! Just swooped in and yanked them!
