Thank you for all your informative videos! I've begun to build my own box for 2 -12's under the back seat of a new Sierra pickup...not much room and not many good pre-built boxes out there, so I'm making my own and I never would have without watching lots of your videos 1st. BUT, I'm stuck on what carpet to buy...I've looked all over the internet, mostly Amazon, and I'm not sure what to get. Of course I want a quality black carpet that is easy to work with. Could you please provide a recommendation or 2?

Serious question. I have a 4 door pick up. Why do so many videos/people recommend down firing subs? Wouldn't up firing sound better? And would forward firing single in the middle sound better still?

So, can I use a dsp with my passive crossover component speakers for better tuning or switch to active crossovers, or would I still need active crossovers+a dsp for better tuning? Thanks for your help I have a set of mb quart 6.5" 2 way component speakers with passive crossovers with -0db , -3db, and -6db, I think they sound the best at -6db for the twitters but I would like to be able to control the twitters more , I also have a 7 band clarion eq but I want more tuning ability on those twitters.

I have a 4 channel amp with 4-8” speakers in channel 1 and 2 and 2 -6 1/2 in channel 3 and 4 no subwoofer, the amp have a switch LPF -LPF and FULL where do I put the switch

It depends, but I will pick "FULL" because you dont have subwoofers, so you need bass and highs from those speakers.

Will different sized subs of the same brand work together? 10s and 15s in the same vehicle?

No. That’s a complete beginners mistake. Stick with subs of the same size. The FS will be different between sizes plus the frequency ranges. You could end up with some frequency cancellation and/or just poor sound quality. Sure, if you want to take a ton of time and way too much effort then yes, theoretically you could thru box tuning plus crossover networks make it work let’s say by using the larger subs for 60hz and below then the smaller subs for everything above the 60hz range or you could just not waste time, money and effort by buying some dedicated components that are set up to handle your mid bass and highs by utilizing either 6.5” mids and tweeters for highs plus crossover networks for the fine tuning or you could even get some 8” mids if you want more volume. Why are you considering two different sized subs?

@@blaccteezy That makes sense for this build, considering that the Vb of those chambers is about 0.57 cu. ft. each, and the optimum Vb according to the Rockford Fosgate T1S2-10 manual is 0.80 cu.ft.

I literally built this in one day before it left for SEMA...the videos make it look like more time, if I had more time I would have done things a little differently, and would have requested a seat lift as that would be required to get enough air space to make sense to go ported.
