Look for a round body swimbait. I like the Keitech and Berkley swimbaits. It's important for the blade to swim freely and the round body baits offer that. The square body can block the water flow over the blade. Hi Peter, Thank you for the order. It went out today. I've fished a few other paddle kayaks for the years. (Ocean Kayak and Cobra Kayak). Hands free is definitely the way to kayak fish. If you can, do a demo on the Hobie. A try before you buy situation. Thanks for the support!

I gave it some thought and even fished the Outback today. For overall experience, I prefer the PA. There is more room, storage, the chair is so comfortable. Before purchasing, I suggest doing a demo on both kayaks to help make the decision

I see you might be coming to long beach, try out alamitos bay for big spotted bay bass. My PB there is 18" right behind ballast point on a 3/8 ounce under spin and Berkeley gulp,grab a brew right after 🤙

I think sculpin are year round actually, 450 ft or less 10 inch keepers minimum, 5 inch fillet minimum with patch of skin left on for identification purposes

Ok, I just retired and am fishing the San Diego bay area. The rule book says 14 inches for spotted bay bass but then says 10 inches alternate length. What does that mean?

The PA is the best kayak on the market. But there is a place for the Outback. The PA is the Bentley, The Outback is the Nissan 370z I prefer the space of the PA. The PA is basically a small boat. The new Outback is bad ass though. It's fast, roomy, comfortable. It has a lot of room for gear. When I'm helping guys decide between the two kayaks, it usually comes down to cost and storage. This new Outback is definitely going to take a percentage of the PA market.

Great question about the new Outback. I think they did nice the seat area forward a bit. I really like the new Outback. The PA 12 is great as well. I’m typically on the PA 14, which is a big kayak. The PA 12 is more maneuverable. I hope this helps. Definitely do a Demo on them both before purchasing. Fast Lane Kayaks offers free demos

Yes, I wash off my rods, reels and any baits I use with fresh water after saltwater use. The salt will destroy anything if left to sit and dry up
