Thanks Wes. It's something true that when it comes to understand the movies or tv shows it becomes harder to our ears and Brain to distinguish the words and phrases. I think one other reason is that in movies we often have a lot of background sound that makes it hard for us. I usually understand KZbin videos pretty good but movies are a whole 'nother animal. Everything is as fast as the speed of light. 😅

Thanks a bunch for making the video on connected speech and breaking it down succintely in a way that anybody can wrap their head around it. It's utterly critical that everybody master connected speech If they're itching to understand fast speaking natives. So I can't thank you enough. Please make more videos on that since such videos are pretty much scarce on KZbin.

Hi. I have problem understanding songs in English. I've been living in the U.S. for 35 years. I have college education. I started learning English when I was 12 years old. The primary language at home is English. I have no problem understanding TV shows, movies, News, and scientific/documentary programs but I have problem understanding songs. I have to look at the lyrics to understand them. Any idea? Thanks.

I think it is not a big deal. Turkish is my native language and ı still can't figure out lyrics even if I listen the song more than once. It is okey. No worries.
