I had this exact procedure done at Swedish Heart and Vascular in Seattle, just three weeks ago....I feel much better now!...at age 76, my breathing had been somewhat labored, energy level was low, etc. Now, I am improving every day...the procedure is great, if one has co-morbidity, like me...80lbs overweight! My TAVR "team was awesome, headed by Dr. Gafoor, the structural heart specialist, and main TAVR specialist. I received the Sapien 3 device. If and when you need this procedure, try to find a well-experienced doctor/team...my team had performed several hundreds of TAVR procedures. Modern medicine is just amazing!

Thank you for your informative lecture. I am awaiting AVR in Lisbon. The surgeon did not give me the detailed explanation you just did. Regards.

Great presentation and illustration. Recommend to control the pointer so it doesn’t fly all over the place, which are distracting and confusing at times.

Dr help me, my son was 2 years old when the Dr discovers Sub-aortic stenosis plus sub-aortic insufficiency he had surgery to remove that and was told he’d be fined. 26 years later the growth had returned so surgery for the same plus a damaged leaflet. 8 years later he is told he needs a valve replacement. He is now 40. What about TAVAR for him? Thank you for your time, sincerely Gail Jones

Is calcification is due to undisclosed calcium in our drinking water, or food, or this is due to inference.?

Hi my name is Bassem Saad 36 Year old male, from Australia I have a bicuspid aortic valve with calcifications, severe aortic stenosis ( 1mm ) and I should do an open heart surgery very soon to replace my aortic valve as I get symptoms of dizziness, chest pain and palpitations. I did know from my cardiologist that there is new technique to replace it much less invasively but he is not sure if it is approved for my case Thanks and best regards Bassem Saad

Bassem; I have the same diagnosis, but I'm 55. As far as I know here in Canada they will only attempt this procedure on elderly patients that cannot undergo open heart surgery. I will be going in shortly for the cardiac catheterization to see if I have any other issue then hopefully not to long after the Aortic valve replacement....I have not had chest pain, but dizziness and I tire easily.

One year later and I'm doing well. They did have an issue with getting my blood pressure meds correct. Was back to my normal routine about 2 months later. I still get dizzy If I get up to quick now and then....other than that I feel great, Thanks.

@@jedidiah5131 hello, are you doing TAVAR?

@@gailjones6925 Hi , no they did open heart surgery, as at the time in Canada as far I understood only some elderly people would receive TAVAR. Maybe a lack of qualified surgeons at the time, not sure. Its been 3 years now and I feeling great. I would imagine the TAVAR will have replaced open heart surgery when I need the valve replaced again.
