I’ve always been more of a string launcher guy since the metal series, but now with the rip cords being as good as the string launchers in terms of spin power, it’s really something based on preference more than one being better than the other. I still prefer the string launcher in X over the rip cord because of its consistency in self battles. But I don’t mind using the rip cords in X every now and then.

Brother I know this video is old 9months but I can give you a tip, String launcher is a tech launcher. You need to use the slip technique. When using a string launcher you need to pinch the launcher handle with your thumb and your second finger. When launching you need to pull with all your strength without any fear, when you achive max speed with your arm you usually end the string length and this is the moment when the launcher handle slips out of your pinch! The spring will recall the string and the shoot would be as powerful and precise as possible! Remember that your pinch needs to be loose so you dont break the launcher by mistake! If you are going to learn this technique not only you will never break the launcher but you will find it very comfortable!

I won 2nd place today at the Malaysian Official Beyblade tournament using ripcord (no grip). I noticed when I used ripcord I would outspin my opponent, even when it's a Taper vs Ball, or Flat vs Taper match up. The ripcords are definitely more power and helps with the stamina. But I've lost a few rounds today because too much force and it just spun out of control into a self KO.

Love any time one of these comes out! A small detail ive found is that attaching a grip actually can change the argument somewhat. With the string launcher, there's no change. But if you attach a grip to the rip cord launcher, due to where you can actually attach it, it forces you to have to pull the cord in one direction while holding the grip.

I have experimented on this countless of times. I agree with your findings here. In addition, I learned that you can deliver more power with a rip cord compared to a string since you can pull it with more torque, without the fear of breaking it or reaching its length's end. This power does not translate to stamina right away, though. It just spins faster, but just a little longer. However, this faster spin creates more recoil and explosiveness. It is really a matter of preference and Bey set up.

Ripcord is stronger currently, but string gives more control. Love my launch style for attack types and tested it, it only works reliably on a string launcher, so I’m sold on that. The loss of power isn’t a bad thing when you can reliably hit the Xtreme line.

My exact thoughts. I would also add that when pulling a string launcher, the string should be gripped lightly so that it slips away from the hand once it reaches the end. SwiftMFB made a great video on how to use an MFB string launcher that is still relevant with X.

The more I think about it as well the more I like that there are differences that allow players to have preferences for their styles, and the light grip on the string launcher is something I hadn't thought about and have to try!

I’m a bit late to the vid, but the main reason why people used string launchers over winder launchers in past gens was because the winders were inferior (especially with teeth skipping), which was fixed in this gen. From what I’ve heard the winders are generally stronger but less consistent than the string launchers. Great video!

The best way to use string launchers in my experience in MFB and Burst. lightly pinch the handle and pull with all your might (do not worry about the launcher it will hold you back) and naturally if you reach the maximum length of the string the handle will just naturally slip off your pinching fingers. Pros from asian countries have been doing this style since MFB. Performing a whip lash motion really screws with your spring.

Any day this guy uploads is a good day, solid video as always. You are getting a solid grip on this, you are on point with this one, string launchers are simple put, Consistent, while less powerful (at least in X) string lets you get to max speed easier so your launches are more consistent, also as you need less strenght to reach top speed you have more control over the launch, as for ripcord well, they are strong, like really strong as unconsistent as they are the amount of force you can put on them is insane.

I'm glad you found my video helpful! Thank you for sharing it! I just made a quick little update tutorial for a trick to stop the string launchers from breaking. Also, I noticed you were pulling the string launcher backwards, it might just be that I'm not used to it but I find it very difficult to do a powerful launch when pulling back and I get far better power and control when pulling sideways. Not sure why but that's my experience. I think the biggest difference between launchers is just that ripcord launchers are better for beginners, as you kind of have to learn how to use a string launcher properly (hence swift's video that Kio linked), and string launchers are better for playing by yourself as you can launch two beys quickly in succession.

Thank you for posting the video, was definitely helpful! I ended up launching with the sideways pull because I was trying to see if I could get the launches to be anywhere near as destabilizing as ripcord, because I definitely felt the sideways was better for string, but just didn't change back while filming. Also since ripcord can't launch sideways I wanted things to be one to one, but probably not the best to show on camera the best option for string, though I didn't see much of a difference in time between back and sideways pulling, but may have to look through the footage again.

A way I’ve found to use the ripcord launcher with similar control to a string launcher is by not using a grip but instead using a battle pass and holding it as if it were a grip. Would love to see you test the difference!

String Launchers generally offer more control - for example, you may want your Stamina Bey to land at a certain area of the stadium to avoid an Attacker. This is much easier to do with a String Launcher as it's easier to hold a launcher stable and static over a certain area. As for feeling like the string may break (and breakage in general), there is a technique to letting go of the string while pulling - SwiftMFB has a great video on this by demonstrating with the MFB String Launcher, although it can be applied to the X Launcher as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoS0l3uqeLynr9U In terms of actual breakage, the black release is notorious for breakage issues on JP Twitter and the WBO - something they'll hopefully rectify.

I don’t know if you’re doing this as I wasn’t able to see, but with all string launchers from all generations, what you would do is hold the handle with your thumb and index fingers and pull until the string stops. And once it stops you can let go of the string and finish the outward motion. Basically let it slip out from your fingers once the string ran out. This will significantly reduce your chances of breaking the string launcher. It also makes it really easy to get a powerful launch.

Hey beyblade journey. So I’m a beyblade fan and I was into metal fight as a child. It made such a big impact on my childhood. Since then I started getting back into it this year. I also just got into burst like this month after years of being stubborn and rejecting burst and always sticking to metal fight since it was the only thing I knew. This beyblade X stuff looks cool. Idk why but I’m getting the FOMO. I don’t want to finally get into this years from now when nobody is really competing with it anymore. I don’t wanna make that mistake again. I wanna join in right now that it’s the new kid on the block. I’m intrigued in this new generation of beyblade but if I’m gonna buy one, which one should I get? What stock bey would be great for raw attack power and what would be great for burst/attack resistance?

String launchers are definitely an acquired taste, but this is a great example of both launchers being good in their own ways. It all comes back down to using whatever feels comfortable to you.

The Ripcord launcher has an inherent wobble during the launch. The release mechanic is different from the previous gen.

I have both launchers and the big difference to me is on the ripcord launcher I can jiggle it about, turn it around etc and the bey will not fall off it as the launcher itself has longer teeth going into the beyblade

I did a test similar to this weeks ago. Using the bey battle pass, I did 15 pulls at max strength with both string and ripcord and on average I got around 7000 power on string and 11000 with ripcord

I always use string launcher because in ripcord launchers, the teeth of the ripcord always worn off but i will try to use the ripcord launchers cause i think that i don't see the problem for now on.

Overall yes a string launcher is going to give you far more consistent launches due to once you learn how to use a string launcher it's actually a lot less resistance on your pull than a rip cord is actually causing less vibration whenever you launch it. But in X rip cord launchers do.not have a stopper often making them slightly more poweful which also is a reasom they may fly towarfs the edge more. In past geneations rip cord launchers would have stoppers in them sp they dont keep spinning and limiting the launch power. The stoppers in ripcord launchers and the more stability of string launchers is why they were more prefered before. However I another to consider is the orenation of the launcher om the grip. As pulling the string towards you or to your side can also make a good difference in your launch. And mastery of the pull length of the string launcher is another thing to consider.

I have issues being less consistent with the string launcher as ive only ever used ripcord launchers. It takes some getting used to finding the right pull strength and how much if the string i use. My girlfriend who has never played with beys has a significantly better launch with the sting launcher so she beats me 70% of the time even when we switch exact bey combos. I for aure need to improve or just see how i am with ripcords when they come in

I mainly use ripcord launchers because for some reason I keep breaking my string ones. I never had this problem in burst, where I have launched so hard with my string launchers that I cut my hand, but it's happened to my blue string launcher I got from the stadium set and one of my black ones I bought separately. I broke mine differently than you did, though. My string launchers just lost all of their power completely, and they basically can't shoot a bey at all anymore. I don't think I can fix it sadly as I have tried looking up videos on the problem and there wasn't any vids that could fix it. The weirdest part is though that I launch string launchers with my left hand, which is not my dominant hand. So I have broken 2 string launchers when I'm unable to even launch them with my dominant hand. Maybe I just got really unlucky, but I'll stick to ripcord launchers for now.

Beyblade spin strength is dictated by the number of rotations the launcher had at the point of launch. With the current two the difference is only like 1-2 rotations more from the string so generally they have similar strength as you noted. In the past gens they had stoppers that limited launch strength in both launcher types which was unfortunate but fine enough. The issue tho was while the initial launcher they'd release in the beginning would have a long enough string length be be marginally better than the ripcord launchers as time went on they'd powercreep the string length and in turn give string launchers more and more rotations over ripcords. Another thing that didn't help was in most cases ripcord launchers were usually of less quality than string solely cus they were pack-ins. The only super amazing ripcord launchers they've made were the hms launcher like 20 years ago and the current x launchers.

In this current stage of beyX both is pretty similar in term of power but string will alway have better stability(good luck making point bit stay in the middle with a ripcord) But when bey getting heavier and bigger which they will burst bey almost got upto 100g when it end and metal fight got around 80+ during zeroG ripcord launcher will be less preferable because itll take much more force to launch compare to string and teeth skipping will happen more often Also when TT release a left spin beyX or a dual spin beyX in the future i doubt they would make a LR ripcord launcher since they didnt make one In metal fight because of how the hook work in mf (they use the same hook in beyX but only 2 hooks not 3)

In previous gen everyone prefer string launcher because how easy to control it is there is no xtreme line in previous gen, so you need to mastered rush shot/flower pattern to make attack type effective You should get a standard stadium from burst and you'll see the difference between the 2 launcher way clearer

Honestly i have no idea why people use string launchers. They will always break... you can not get a consistent launch from them. You also can not control the speed as well as a ripcord. String is a gimick, pure and simple. Looks good in the anime but it is not a viable choice. If you want control, always use a ripcord.
