This was so fun and interesting to watch, and it's so different from the rest of the videos on this channel:) Thank you, Alina! Keep up the great work and hope to see more studies like this.

Thank you, Nina! Yes, a very different video this time - but I had a lot of fun with the idea! I personally prefer the podcast version though (I have a podcast now!) I still struggle to make videos visually interesting. Your kind words mean a lot and is very encouraging 😊

@@PsychodynamicPsychology You could make these videos more visually interesting by showing small clips or photo's of the character which examplify the traits you're talking about.

This is pretty gold right here- I love it! There are so many possibilities! There's the whole cast of the Office, you could do the Grinch for the holidays, Charlie Brown, Phoebe, we would learn so much and a real live person doesn't get publicly hurt or diagnosed. Very fun content to sprinkle in! I've enjoyed your work over the years! Nicely done.

Thank you so much! Yes, that's exactly the beauty of using fictional characters :) There will hopefully soon be more time to devote to new videos. Best wishes!

I really enjoyed this! 😄I'm at the beginning of my training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cases like this are sooo helpful for understanding the theory in practice - especially for a character I've known and loved for so many seasons. I'd love to see more studies such as this one 🤓

Hello to a fellow psychotherapist in training. Oh, yes, I also find case studies like this tremendously helpful (and just downright fun :)). Michael Scott would also be a very interesting case :) Thanks for your comment, Zuzanna! I wish you best of luck with the rest of your training.

One of the key aspects of this is just treating the whole subject -- and the very self and its existence -- with respect.

"The dictionary defines superlative as: of the highest kind, quality, or order, surpassing all else, or others. Supreme. I define it as Dwight Schrute. As a sales executive, as a leader, as a man, and as a friend, he is of the highest kind, quality, and order. Supreme." - Michael Scott, the World's Best Boss

I love this idea to analyze Dwight 😄 however you didnt include that Dwight wasn't raised by his mother. This is transcript from S9 E17, where Dwight is talking about his aunt: Dwight: I would say that she raised me, but let's not kid each other. I raised myself. She was, however, the closest thing I had to a mother. [cut to talking head] Dwight: My actual mother was very cold and distant. I'd say she was the closest thing I had to an aunt.

Hi Alina, I am a psychotherapist in the US. I really enjoy your videos and explanations of psychodynamic theories. I listen to them daily prior to starting my sessions, they are a good inspiration and reminder of what I do. I looked on your website and could not find a way to send you an email. Is there a way to contact you? I'd like to ask you some questions about your work and see if you offer consultations. Thank you.
