I went thru this procedure 3 years ago. I had a few stones in my gallbladder. Ended up in the hospital with horrible pain 4 days before the Christmas. They were gonna remove my galblader but the surgeon with the great reputation went on a vacation ( and i didnt want to use any other surgeon) and by the time he was back i felt good and thought i ll be just fine .... 5 months later i ended up in the hospital AGAIN with pancreatitis. This time the stones moved ( luckily) from gallbladder to a bile duct so ... ERCP was needed. Everything went fine, no complications AND i still have my gallbladder :)

Monika hi thank for this post you have put up on here, I had my gallbladder removed last July 2018, Its looking like I will need this procedure im getting pain in the area where my gallbladder used to be, other possibilities are sludge according to the doctor, apparently very common after surgery. So glad you got to keep your gallbladder. If I could have avoided the op I would of, but not possible I was too ill. Kind regards Jo

Bile duct mildly dilated, 13mm; suspect distal duct stricture; ampullary mass is considered. Fatty, mildly enlarged liver. Asymptomatic. Is an endoscopic ultrasound necessary?
