Its interesting to note that in that dodgeball scene where Gon says he trusts Killua, a few scenes later we see that Razor was also in a similar situation to Killua where he didn't know friendship until he met Ging

Killua and Gon treasure each other due to them being so new to real friendships as their upbringings are so different, Killua was raised to kill while Gon was raised in a nuturing enviroment. It's nuture v.s. nature with these two

How is no one here relating with Gon? Or at least less than Killua. Why you could relate to Gon: • A child neglected by a parent and pressuring themselves to be the best and go past their limits for said parent’s attention, •In the process low self worth and not treasuring your life enough •While seeming happy on the outside •B as the result of the buildup of all the trauma/pressure /hurting lashing out on people and making mistakes -> Damaging social connections ->People thinking you re a monster/hating you As if no one can relate to any of that ;-; Gon and Killua have some self worth issues, they just show it in different ways; Killua by taking a step back and not being confident enough to do anything too complicated/dangerous and just generally taking a step back, while Gon shows it by risking his well being and not really caring about it all that much/blinded by his goal. Killua shows problems with self worth through not confiding in himself, possibly overthinking and analyzing, basically his thoughts while Gon shows it through his (reckless, self destructive) actions. I think that s also why they re such a dream team, they have what the other lacks as different responses to pressure and possibly traumatic situations while having deep down quite similar problems to deal with, just a different approach and story

Looking forward to part 2. I love this show and think it’s really good, but it’s Gon and Killua’s friendship that makes it into something truly amazing

It’s really interesting that we always hear and see killua thoughts regarding their friendship, and what it means to him, and then showing this by actions. Gon on the other hand, we never see his thoughts much, like we do a little bit when he and killua split up in the CA arc where killua wanted to make chaos in other villages, but other than that it’s very hard to tell what he feels with their friendship or how much it really means to gon. Gon expresses his feelings through his words, which makes sense because of his straightforward approach to almost everything. He doesn’t even think about the idea of his friendships with killua because in his mind it’s already established and there, he already knows that killua is his best friend and he knows that he cares for him.
