Hypoglycemia is a term for low blood glucose (sugar). Hypoglycemia has many causes, and is most often associated with taking insulin injections and other diabetes medications. Severe hypoglycemia can be dangerous and should be treated promptly.

I have non diabetic hypoglycemia so i dont take insulin, my pancreas makes too much insulin for my body. So hypoglycemia isnt always linked to diabetes

I'm the same. I also have an easy trigger so my body can release it when its not needed or if it expected me to eat more food

I have it without diabetes too but it only happens when I go without eating after waking up or go without eating for over 4½ hours without even a snack like chips or something. I start to shake then it turns to light headedness and getting dizzy then I can pass out. Hasn't been diagnosed by a doctor but been like that since I was a kid and my dad has the same thing.

@Oz I am usually fine except for like today we got up early to go grocery shopping(left at 9something this morning) and all I had was half a poptart. Oh boy was I shaking after shopping and my parents were starving too so we got fast food on our way home. When I wake up early to go somewhere and only eat something small my body loves to shake like that usually only when we go shopping because I know we will eat afterwards.

Hypoglycemia is not the same as diabetes

Hypoglycemia is the term for low blood sugar. Severe hypoglycemia symptoms may include unconsciousness, or seizures due to low blood sugar.

I don't have diabetes, but I do have hypoglycemia, it's about every 2 1/2 hours I have a have something to eat, and it sounds like a long time but it's feels shorter when you are productive and it's a pain in the butt to feel so sick when I wake up

Don’t be worried, it can occur even if u don’t have diabetes. There is such thing as non diabetic hypoglycemia, so if you have some of these symptoms, it doesn’t always mean you have diabetes or have to take insulin.

Im not diabetic as far as I know but I get Low blood sugar since I was 7 years old, I do have sickle cell tho and Im now 38 years old every day is worst

What tests can I ask my doctor to run if I think I have hypoglycemia? I'm 19 and a about 2 years ago I had blood sugar tests done at a lab, but everything turned out fine, but I getting too hungry, I woke up dizy, I can't concentrate, and can't focus my sight well. And I don't have diabetes

I don't know what test you can do for it but just look up the symptoms for it and compare it to how it is for you. I didn't know it wasn't normal until middle school and just found out its a condition a few years ago.

@@RandomnessGirl309 I also have hypoglycaemia without diabetes. I came to know about it by checking my blood sugar levels with a glucometer machine. I did fasting test which was normal, pp 2hrs after breakfast was low this indicates that I have low sugar levels, and random was also low level. Here are normal sugar ranges Fasting shd be 70 to 100 Pp shd be 140 Random shd be less than 200 If its lower than these ranges then its hypoglycaemia.

lori R There are blood sugar tests like fasting pp and random and HBA1C to completely evaluate your sugar levels and tell you whether you are diabetic or not.

lori R In a case like hypoglycaemia without diabetes it's hard to find out, only PP in my case tells that I m hypoglycaemic, my fasting sugar test and hba1c was normal.

Perhaps Cortisol (the stress, fight or flight hormone) level goes up in an attempt to adjust for your low blood glucose?

Idk if anyone has help with good foods to raise blood suger. I live in america ironically and my blood suger drops really low to the point where I have seizures. I feel like I'm dying each day and losing weight fast. I'm not diabetic my friend. Told me but it drops slot throughout the day.

It’s always a tik off when they talk about hypoglycemia like you have diabetes uggggg.... majority of people who have hypoglycemia does not have diabetes people ugggg 🤦🏾‍♀️
