LA Woman hadn't been mixed when he left, it's part of what made Ray uneasy about his travelling to Paris. Jim left during the early mixing process just after all the recordings had been done, trusting that Ray, Robbie and John would do a good job without him. You can download the Miami concert of the Doors..Morrison was extremely drunk, during the concert. The concert was in Coconut Grove, in a airport hangar.
@LieLikesMusic5 жыл бұрын
It's crazy that they converted an airport hangar into a concert environment. Must've been a huge place! Too bad the organizers only thought about the money, and removed some of the seats...

Some interesting interpretations, but you assume too much about him like saying "he thought more about death because he was on top, because he feared death". Too much assumption based on superficial notions.
@onespeedonegear10065 жыл бұрын
I agree, I don't believe Jim usually was worried about arbitrary things like money and power to begin with. He was always obsessed with death, and also the focus on the occult didn't start towards the end of his college career it was his whole life, in high school he wrote a paper based on a 16th century book about the occult and satanism, which his teacher didn't believe he read or had, so she went to congressional library, and indeed did find the book was writing in reference to. I thought the video had some interesting interpretations, but I agree that a lot of the information provided was misleading and based off superficial notions.
@LieLikesMusic5 жыл бұрын
Well what's true is that he thought about death quite a bit. The reason why is still a mystery. Like i said in the video, he was going though depressive episodes. And "maybe" it also had a connection to him being on top of the world. That's ONE example of a personal take. I think there's room for personal thoughts here and there.

ALSO: What proof is there that Morrison was into demonology? If the person who posted this can detail such proof, then I will believe it. Otherwise, take this video down!

@@emotionalmodels8463 Jim studied many things in order to perfect his poetry. These people are describing the Jim that they want him to be. I've yet to hear anyone decipher any of the words properly.

Thanks! I'm trying to up my game for every video. Next time i'll try to focus more on writing better. Ministry? Maybe. Why should i do one about them? Do they have an interesting story?
@stornkolson5 жыл бұрын
@@LieLikesMusic hi Lie. Yeah, if you like NIN, Ministry is in the same category. Industrial, sometimes melodic, beautiful/crushing soundscapes. Really good lyrics. Also they played the early Lollapaloozas. Starting in the early 80s with a decidedly New Wave sound, they morphed into a metal powerhouse. It was the scariest stuff I ever heard when I was growing up. Check em out :) Psalm 69 is their masterpiece.

I was 15 when Jim Morrison died and I had listened to the Doors but wasn’t really a fan. I became interested after reading “No One Here Gets Out Alive” in the early 80s. I think you accurately portrayed what Morrison was about in this video.
@LieLikesMusic5 жыл бұрын
Cool. I'm glad you appreciated this. I think the reason why you thought this was so accurate is because it's more or less the same as what other people already have portrayed him like. The characters are obviously a bit of a different angle.

You've got to remember that he was a small child when it happened. It's easy for things to become exaggerated in memory, especially if it's a traumatizing even for the child. They no longer remember the event itself they mostly remember the way that it made them feel

Thanks for constructing this! Love the breakdown of Morrison's personalities. Been a while since I've listened to The Doors - you have me going back! For future ref, Albert Camus is pronounced more like 'Al-behr Cah-Mou.' I'm horrible at pronunciation, especially of French names, and even after I know the pronunciation, I still default to how I want to say it. I still f up Pahlniuk, Houellebecq, Chabon, Picoult, Coetzee.

I love Jim. Ive always felt a huge connection with him (maybe because we have the same birthday). His views about life, death and discovery have gotten me through a few existential terrors Ive had. I wish the 60's and 70's had more support for those suffering with addiction. Ray has said that in retrospect, he was an alcoholic. Its similar to what happened to Karen Carpenter. People didn't know or have proper treatment for addiction back then. I wonder how different his life would have been if good rehab was available then.
