I love the Spiritual pattern that's shown so many times in Bible between flesh [Old Man] and Spirit [New Man]. Isaac is the son of promise, representing the Spiritual aspect, whereas Ishmael was associated with the bond woman, representing the bondage of the flesh. These flesh/Spirit patterns are amazing!

Isaac's father, Abraham, also lied when he said Sarah was his sister and not his wife. Like father, like son?
