My grandpa, who was a legend, died today. He died from pancreatitis. He only had barely less then 2 days to live & on the first day was already knocked out in a bed in the hospital. I got all the prayers I could get from all over my family & friends & I just didn’t do enough, he still never got to hear me say I love him. Last thing he went to before the hospital was my sophomore football game to which I killed & locked up somebody that game which I hoped made him proud & excited him. He was a religious man, never drank or smoked &never did that stuff..he most likely got pancreatitis from nightquil he took for sleep. He worked hard & long just for us so we could be happy. I wish I could hug him one more time again. Right now he’s in heaven playing with his 3 dogs, Charlie, Moose, & Astro. It’s October 13, Sunday in 2024. I miss him, I don’t feel like I did enough, & I love him, with all I got. Hit a home run Pooh. Make it Fly high.

Cannot believe how good and how clear these videos are, after finding the podcasts earlier today. Absolutely fascinating and make learning easy. This from someone who has been in hospital for the last week with acute pancreatitis. These videos help fill gaps in understanding, noting that the treating doctors have limited time. Very reassuring indeed. You can probably tell I'm impressed. Thanks very much Tom.

Since I was 15, maybe even younger. I started drinking. It has got me in so much trouble. I remember I was working this construction job and every day after work I would drink and sometimes I would have to drink a little bit in the morning just to get rid of the shakes. This went on for a while and sometimes you throw up when you don't have alcohol. It's weird because when you drink in the morning and you throw up you just figure it's the alcohol hitting your body because it happens a lot. Well one morning I was at work drinking to feel better and I just couldn't stop throwing up, on top of it I was having an extreme pain in my stomach. I know this was not normal. I called the day off and drove myself to the hospital. I had to stop multiple times just to throw up and I was sitting sideways in my driver seat because of the pain in my stomach. I remember going into the hospital saying my name and having to run out of the hospital and throw up on the sidewalk and then go back in and tell them I can't stop throwing up. Come to find out it was pancreatitis. Those four days in the hospital were some of the most painful days I've ever experienced. After getting out of the hospital. I was told not to drink again. Try telling that to an alcoholic. Anyways I started to drink a little bit again not anywhere close to what it was before. But I started noticing after I would drink I would have the same pain in my stomach and feel weak and dizzy. It was like an extremely bad hangover with extra symptoms . I know exactly what it was because I felt this pain before. I decided to never drink again because of how bad it was destroying my body. I haven't touched a drink in 2 years. I started to research and found out that alcohol is the worst drug you can't take for your body. Out of all the drugs! Alcohol does the most damage.

I felt like my body was in a vice which was being tightened making breathing difficult and extremely painful. I had gallstone grit blocking the bile duct causing the acidic pancreatic enzymes to back up into the pancreas causing necrotising and pseudo cysts. I eventually had 70% of my pancreas removed. Told I’d be diabetic and on insulin before leaving the hospital - I was diagnosed 10 years later. If I’d known then what I know now I could have put the diagnosis off maybe another 10 years and I haven’t needed any digestive enzymes that they said I’d need either.

I had this 5 days ago and went to surgery. While all the systems are correct I still can't for the life of me figure out why I got it. I never drink alcohol, simply because I don't like the taste. I am not on drugs, and the ones prescribed by my doctor should have nothing to do with that side. It was mostly livers. I do blood tests every year just to make sure I have all the stuff I need. And then bam! The pain was there, they took a scan and found my pancreas was in an abces and close to bursting open. Which it did when I went under apparently. I don't real want to take precautions in the future on what to eat because I love food and at a healthy weight. But the pain is something you will never feel even the same again even after birthing. Anyhow I'm told to stay for 5 days longer because the first antibiotic does not work for me. So need to start another.

Thanks sir for sharing great knowledge. My daughter (15) is suffering from Acute Pancreatitis since 17 months. Admitted several times in Hospital. After severe attack, pain and omitting she fall ill and recover after 5/6 days fully. But after 30/35 days, it repeats. Have any medical suggestion, please.

Hello I'm a 18 year old boy who is going through this now. I've been diagnosed with autoimmune pancreatitis that can relapse at time maybe this is something to suggest to the doctors.

@@Darkening14 Do not suggest this to your doctors. They will say no. Just try it on your own. It cured mine within one week, and it has not come back in almost 3 months.
