Brilliant teacher. It’s like you were born with that whiteboard marker in your hand, wearing a cardigan. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

When we consider the pH of gastric acid is in the 2-3 range we can understand just how harmful an abdominal injury is. Releasing that into the blood is not good. Nice jacket / cardigan.

I think I'm changing my mind on being a doctor or studying medicine I'm in 10th grade and I've always wanted to be one but it looks so complicated not only this though so I'll just study criminology instead

Do not change your mind..you can do it,you have much more ability inside of you.things look complicated before you start..but after starting it will be easy...study everyday in other not to have chunks of books to read during your exams!...wish you all the best

My question is still what effect does that have on the body or a better phrased question, why does this matter. Why does it matter whether we have 100 M of H+ or 0.000004mM of H+. Does it react with certain substances. Are we scared of making too much water with the extra H+. I still don't know, if anyone could clarify that would be great

I know the question was not addressed to me but I can help. Look, there are proteins and enzymes in the blood. These compounds and molecules require a certain pH range to function properly. So any change in the optimum range affects enzymes and proteins of the blood. PH also affects the rate of diffusion. What does this matter? Well, you know the end products of digestion end up in the blood right? So if the pH of the blood changes, the rate at which nutrients move from the blood within capillaries into the interstitial space/ fluid is also affected. But more importantly, it leads to drowsiness, stupor, coma, and death in coma. Why is that, you may ask? Well certain enzymes/ glycolytic enzymes are pH dependent. So when pH drops they become less effective and bring about impairment in glucose utilization in cells of the brain leading to all the horrible things I just enumerated above. In short there are so many ways blood pH affects physiological activities. I hope this helps. Read on blood acidosis for more.

Why aren’t you taught at the beginning? Much more understandable than just saying pH 7 is neutral
