5:25 if you're referring to the time jibril first appeared infront of Muhammad ﷺ and gripped him tightly.... most likely thing i can think of, is to prove that the prophet is not dreaming. and also to highlight the importance of reading also, jibril is the one that always appears with revelation to prophet Muhammad ﷺ every time. its not like quran is the only divine miracle according to islam. there are many miracles granted to the prophet. its just that, the quran is the last remaining miracle in our time

The vast majority of times jibril came to prophet Muhammad he would take a human form to what I believe to be more “ grounded ” more simpler way to deliver the massage for your average human can relate to.

I agree with @LGkojin. Prophets miracles are based on the context of the population during their time. One of the miracles of Rasulullah s.a.w is the splitting of the moon, the there are still people who don't believe him. So I think grandiose entrance means nothing to the arabs at that time. Since at that time is the age where scholarship (knowledge) was greatly revered, books and knowledge are almost like miracle to the people at that time. From one of the scholar I learned that the arabs at that time were really jealous of the jews because have revelations/books for the religion. When the arabs heard the jews were gathering in Yathrib (modern day Medina) to welcome a new prophet, when actually Allah has other plan; He sent an arab prophet instead, they quickly invite Rasulullah s.a.w to be their leader.

Here's a different perspective you may not have known before. Jesus Christ the Messiah (peace be upon him) was taken to Heaven by Lord/God/TheCreator because some wanted him dead, so God saved him. The word christ comes from the Greek word 'christos' meaning chosen, the word messiah comes from the Arabic/Hebrew word 'messiach', again meaning chosen. Jesus did not speak Greek or Arabic or Hebrew, he spoke Aramaic. So, Who chose Jesus? TheCreator/TheGod/TheLord did. To do what? To convey that there is TheCreator/TheGod/TheLord and only ThatSupreme power should be worshipped and prayed to and NO idols/conjured up god/s by human kind, be it a man, a spirit of a man, a sun, a star, a moon, a tree, an animal etc etc be worshipped in any way. Anything that is worshipped besides TheGod is a god, that is false god, hence with a small ''g''. There is one Creator, hence why TheGod, the only One deserving of worship. What does Allah mean as a word? It means TheCreator/TheGod/TheLord. What does ''elaah'' mean as a word? It means any idol or conjured up god or gods that are false and do not deserve worship of any kind, hence why Islam rejects all gods but TheGod/TheCreator/TheLord/Allah. Why are all religions in opposition of Islam? Because they have a god or many gods but TheGod that is worshipped in someway or another. Have you ever read a Quran from start to finish? That you can answer for your self. (I recommend the Sahih International english translation, it's good). Best wishes. ------------------------------- .....btw..... Jesus did preach to worship the OneGod/TheCreator and not anything else, and so did his followers, peace be upon them all. This unsettled the Roman Empire because this idea of Monotheism went against their pagan beliefs where the emperor was both emperor and god. They persecuted the followers of Jesus and even attempted to kill Jesus, even a Roman Empire servant Saul of Tarsus was out to kill Jesus. Saul never managed to meet Jesus in real life but after Jesus was taken up to Heaven Saul said he saw a dream and said he will now preach the teachings of Jesus. Saul of Tarsus is also known in todays christianity as Saint Paul, so todays christians are actually on the teaching of ''Saint'' Paul which brings in trinity and godhead figure of Jesus and rejects Monotheism. -Jesus was commanded to preach Monotheism, which he did and early followers were Monotheistic believing people, which later changed with the Roman Empires paganism spreading -Jesus was commanded to preach ONLY to the Israelites, which he did, but after him Saul of Tarsus aka ''saint Paul'' started to preach to the Gentiles, which is the foundation of todays christiandom. -Jesus was commanded to rule for the circumsicion which he did, but it was taken out after he left -Roman Empire in 325 AD held a council, with empire alligned 'scholars'' to decide and VOTE on whether Jesus was to be worshipped or not, they VOTED that Jesus be accepted as god (in aliagn with the pagan beliefs of the Roman traditions) and ever since the trinity became the 'christian way' (not what Jesus preached), and sinc that time the Church has chronicled how many times the ''Bible'' has been changed, verses removed and verses added to SUIT this altered idea of trinity!

Correct. The Quran is the miracle that remains for all ages until the day of judgment. All the Prophets of Allah have been strengthened by Allah to help them in their mission of spreading the message to their people. The prophet Muhammad was no exception. Allah supported the prophet through the Angel Gabriel. The prophet has HD many miraculous events happen, such as the moon splitting which was witnessed and documented by even his enemies. His miraculous night journey to the heavens and meeting the prophets in which he brought back new teachings. But also in his battles, where the Muslims won the most impossible battles, where they were faced with armies double their sizes, but the Muslims took victory. As Allah said, that He supported them with his angels in battle. Which gave the Muslims a lot of hope and increase in faith that they were able to defeat enemies who were multiple in size. So yes, Allah makes sure that we understand that the prophet is but a man, and not an angel or of any divine nature. He is not someone send to control but only to warn mankind of how they lost their way to Allah and need to return. The Quran multiple times states that the Prophet Muhammad is but a messenger and warner to mankind. The miracle of the prophet lies in his life and what he achieved and what he was able to establish. Something that is impossible without divine intervention. The Quran is the pinnacle of the miracle as it is a protected and never changing message made to last until mankind seizes to exist. All praise belongs to Allah, the most magnificent the most merciful. The absolute. May His peace and blessing shower upon all his messengers. And may He guide us towards the straight path and open our hearts to the absolute truth and to save our souls from the torment of hell.

@@fallasleep9472 Because scientific research of the Quran and Sunnah is mostly ignored. If you are religious, you need to understand EVERYTHING and question everything. The Quran even states multiple times, "bring your proof", "what logic are you following?" etc. Basic science is also completely ignored. Everyone says, "don't drink Alcohol because Allah said so", why not? They don't bring proof, they just say, "Allah said so". But science says alcohol is damaging, is a carcinogen which causes cancer, the data of drunk driving accidents and drunk accidents in general is enormous. You don't contemplate these things properly and basically follow your sheikhs and muftis blindly and the mufti's and sheikhs used to follow other mufti's and sheikhs blindly, instead of engaging in conversation and debating and testing, you basically shut down all conversation. Like, analyse Al Kauthar for crying out loud. Look at all the rhetorical devices and tell us about them. This also is related to the point he mentioned in the video where he said that the Quran is repetitive. In Arabic, even though I have read the whole book a lot of times, it never gets repetitive to me. That's because of the way it's written. There is always something new in the repeated verses. Actually there are a lot of studies done on this kind of verse. The studies show that those verses might seem the same repeated verses at first glance but are actually totally different. Indeed one of the ways to show that the Quran is the words of God is that the way the Quran is written can not be replicated by humans. God in the Quran challenges the non believers to write a similar book or just a chapter (Surah). "and O Prophet,˺ “If ˹all˺ humans and jinn were to come together to produce the equivalent of this Quran, they could not produce its equal, no matter how they supported each other.” (17:88) "And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant,1 then produce a sûrah like it and call your helpers other than Allah, if what you say is true." (2:23) And yet nobody has ever been able to do that. Not even those who lived in the past and spoke the classic arabic.

Just a couple of points: 1. People don't say it a lot but there are a lot of Arabic words that never get translated to English, sometimes for the purpose of making the listener scared of the unknown and associate words they don't know with the context the word is presented in (this done by western media a lot) The reason I'm saying this is because for example the word "Allah" simply is Arabic for God (literal translation is "The God" because God is one). We Muslims say it as is in English out of reverence and distinction but it doesn't mean that Allah is "our" God. Allah is simply God for all creatures and human beings. 2. It's true that other prophets had physical grand miracles and Muhammad (PBUH) had the Quran as a miracle. The reason is that at that time the people of Mecca were known for their incredible proficiency of the Arabic language. So much so that they could create, on the spot, complex poetry that Arab people of today would barely be able to understand. They would have sort of like freestyle challenges were they responded to each other in poetry, and they could memorize 100s of lines of literature. Which is why God decided to bestow upon the prophet (who couldn't write or read) the gift of a linguistic miracle at the time which challenged the people of Mecca, who were the masters of the language, to come up with verses like the Qur'an but they faild to. 3. The previous prophets like Jesus (PBUH) literally resurrected people from the dead and talked in the cradle but that still couldn't convince the disbelievers. The Quran in that sense was a message to humankind to use their gift of language and intellect to reach to the truth, which is why the first revelation was the verses that started with "Read"

Even there isn't a living miracle (since the messenger pbuh is sent as a merxy to all mankind) better than a preserved book with clear evidences that it's from God. The other prophets were only for their people. And actually Mohamed pbuh had a miracle for his people; the spliting of the moon, other miracles with his companions as well...

I have been a Muslim for some years now after conversion, study arabic, and also speak it at a comfortable level. I agreed with what you said but saying Allah and God makes no difference for me. The Qur'an has a lot of future prophecies that became true and some of it that is yet to be. But the thing that I found really interesting personally, is that Qur'an claims that no one could produce anything like it. I often used to think, surely its just a text. I mean you could try, right? But I was wrong as the linguistic patterns in it is just of another level. Imagine a rap(sorry i couldn't come up with a better example), We know how the rappers have this style of playing with words and sometimes creating some patterns in sentences. Not just in terms of rhyme but also in terms of the placement of words to create some numerical pattern with another meaning. The Qur'an consistently does this and keep in mind that Prophet Muhammad couldn't read or write so he used to learn the revelations and let his companions know and they used to understand and byheart them. No way he could have come up with those numerical as well as linguistic patterns by using just his bare mind without writing it down. And even if we try to write it down or make something similar, it wouldn't be so concise and easy to byheart. This also leads to how Muslims say that Qur'an can never get corrupted because we have this tradition of byhearting it. So even if anyone does a mistake. Muslims can easily identify the mistakes

If you can read Arabic, I highly recommend a book called المعجزة: إعادة قراءة الإعجاز اللغوي في القرأن الكريم or its summary. You'll discover at what extent the language of the Quran left the poets of the time, highly praised for their eloquence and mastery of the language, STUNNED from the amount of novel words, constructions, rhythm etc. We are nowadays used to such constructions and words because they became part of the language since their introduction by the Quran. The Quran brings tons of them even in short surahs! A very pleasant read.

He is expected to exemplify the role of a True Muslim and act as a teacher and a guide as to how to live life as a Muslim. Thus, he is a humble man of everyday even as he takes on this extraordinary mission. By looking at his example and how he lived his life, Muslims can conduct their lives the same or as close as they can get. This would not be possible if the Quran was delivered to mankind straight through the Angels since, sure, they would get the words and Awe, but they miss the practicality and the every minute or every day struggle to stay on the righteous path that comes with being a Human. Love the content and the level of respect you have for Islam and Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)... I'm also aware that certain things can be missed in translation or when reading about the Prophet from Western "orientalist" lenses.. just for future references it's best not to use the word ignorant.. he was unlettered but was divinely guided in almost every action... he was considered to be a wise man before revelation.. and there are instances when he took highly strategic but pure humanistic decisions that illustrates a high degree of intelligence...

We got to make the mistakes otherwise we won’t learn. Again, in documenting my delving into Islam of course I’m gonna make mistakes. I’m not an expert, neither do I claim to be. People shouldn’t be afraid to make mistakes, it’s a vital part in the process of learning.

Keep reading brother! you're doing a good job Only advice is to reach out to a mosque near you, go sit with the brothers there and tell them what you understood and they'll either confirm or clear up any misunderstandings you may have. This is only because to ensure your comprehension of the text is not faulted by the translation. Having said that, I believe you're sincere and I wish you well.

@@KDbooks with your beard mate, I think you'll fit right in but in all seriousness yes, most mosques should be willing to accommodate you and have someone there who can either sit with you or point you to somebody knowledgeable enough to do so. @@KDbooks like Mr. Husain just replied here, it's always good to have someone accommodate you there and direct you to the person who can help you out, however you can always just show up, say hi to the people there - even if you think you're in the wrong place - you'll find people to help out in a mosque.. I would suggest you do a little bit of homework beforehand just to know when you can go if the mosque has certain opening/closing hours or if they have lectures and/or events where they discuss these topics.. the point is it will not be a bad experience, on the contrary you will be welcomed. Remember, like you said, you'll not get the full picture without asking "stupid questions".. just go and ask whatever question you have and I am sure the people there will be understanding :)

Fantastic review. I am an arab Muslim and at some point in the past I left islam and became an atheist due to believing some of the hadiths that are supposed to be said by the prophets. I then decided to un learn everything I knew about Islam and start again from the source of islam which is the Quran. Sure enough I was guided to true faith and true religion. The problem basically is in all these other books that the scholars of islam claim to be sayings of the prophet or hadiths like bukhari. If you stick to the Quran only you will truly be guided to the most beautiful faith in God. You will come to realize that the Quran is very very open minded and even guarantees salivation to other religions like Christans and Jews or any religion really as long as they believe in the One God and be righteous human beings and not harm other humans. Now if you however start to take your religion from the so called scholars of islam or books of bukari and Hadiths you will basically turn into a person who hates other non Muslims and you will be focused to much onto rituals and how to do prayers and things in very specific ways and become obsessed with that kind of religion and neglect the true essence of religion which is being a just and compassionate person who is a source of goodness to all creation. You will find many verses in the Quran that states that Jews and Chrristiqns and people of the book which is a generic term that encompasses even nowadays muslims in opinion you will find verses that say these people had gone astray because they deviated from the one Book and started making their own books . You can watch Dr Jeffrey Lang journey into becoming a Muslim he basically understood this and said that had he not taken his religion from the Quran he would’ve been lost in all this nonsense so called hadiths and other books that muslims invented. Also I would recommend Mohamed Asad translation pf the Quran called the Message of the Quran. It captures the true essence of the Quran without focusing too much on all these minor aspects that Muslims are obsessed with. God wants you to pray to him however you feel comfortable and wants your sincerity of prayer and thats why you will not find details of how to pray in the Quran. I am not saying don’t pray how Muslims pray, I actually pray just like my Muslim brothers do but just don’t become too obsessed with these details . The Quran focuses on what really matters like not killing innocent people, forbidding stealing, dishonesty, Lying. Forbidding wronging people or judging them. Books of Hadiths on the other hand will focus on trivial things and claim that God will punish you for not fasting Ramadan for example. These rituals in the Quran are means to an end and the end goal is Taqwa or being conscious of God and remembering him all the time so that you don’t transgress or harm others. The books of Hadiths and so called scholars turned the means into end themselves and claimed that God will burn you in the fire if you don’t pray five times aday for example. Anyways sorry for the long comment but I really want you to become a Muslim the way the Quran wants you to become and not the Muslim mainstream Islam wants you to become. 6:153 And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous

If your question is about the prophet finding the ability to read at that particular moment, you should know that the word "Iqra'a" from the verse means read and also means recite in Arabic. The first time arch angle Gabriel told the prophet to read he replied that he could not because he thought he was supposed to read a written text, but, arch angel Gabriel was simply telling the prophet to repeat the recitation after him.

Regardin Angel Gabriel the simple answer is that in Islam Gabriel has the mission to deliver the message of God to the prophets. For more details of the topic please feel free to chech in KZbin The Story of Jibreel - The Angel Gabriel - by Omar Suleiman it has two parts. The reason i recomend this videos is so when you read it again you will have a larger understanding of the Book and what are they narrating in each part, as some stories of the prophets are narated through different chapters, in example the story of moses is found in many places in the Coran like chapter 20 and chapter 2 where is very mentioned. So hope you a great lecture

I also want to mention something: after finishing reading the Quran, in order to fully understand it, you need to read the Sunnah. the order of "read" although the prophet was illiterate, is simply as a highlight of the important of knowledge for us Humans. it says: "he who taught with pen, taught man what he would not know" if im not mistaken this is to highlight the importance of language. Pen means writing, which can carry info as old and cumulative as thousands of years before. and in the end we accumulate all of our knowledge through language and writing.

You can interpret the Quran in a lot of ways but I personally believe that the whole point of our existence is the greatest blessing of all, our free will. God gave us free will which is why we are greater than the angels and the animals. This is exactly the reason why God also rewards us so highly when we submit to him, thus sacrificing our greatest blessing, our free will.
