I give props for those who travel the world. Getting out of their comfort zones on a daily basis. In return they will receive the grand gift of learning about other cultures. I mean, have you seen any spear fishermen in norther US? I don't think so.

Another awesome production. Spearfish’s have somehow earned a bad reputation here in Australia and it’s good to see a video that sheds some positive light on a past time that I love. There’s often days where I’ll head out to spear and see plenty of fish but never even take a shot. There’s something really fulfilling about it, just being in the water. 😀

Wow. Ashlei i think this educational background on spear fishing should be seen across the world. Not only is it neat to see the process which the spear fisherman undergo to catch and provide for their communities and family's but, It is also amazing that people realize that you shouldn't just fish for sport it should also be intended to eat and provide. Amazing video!!!

Hi North of the airport is Jerman beach. There is a reef there. If you like danger then try Geger beach or Sanur. There the current is strong. Maybe you can join me.

6:24 Local people spearfishing "sustainably" in order to make a small living and feed themselves and their families is understandable*. On the other hand, spearfishing for so-called "sport" is disgusting. Marine animals are beautiful creatures. Killing them for "fun" is sickening, and no different from hunter scum going to Africa and shooting giraffes, elephants, lions, etc, for "fun" and then posing with their dead animal trophies. (*As an extra note, with the growth of the diving industry and popularity of scuba diving, it might also be argued that fish are more valuable to the local economy alive rather than spearfished and dead).
