you're misrepresenting things he said by putting a conversation with maron where he was talking about the comedy central roast and footage of the espn awards.
@whatimtalkingabout40933 жыл бұрын
Well yes. The conversation was about Bob Saget roast but he was roasting those huge celebrities at the ESPYs as well. So it isn't much of a misrepresentation if you don't look too much into who's talking about what instead if you focus on what they're saying, it wouldn't be too far in both cases. He got much more controversy and public flac for his ESPY stint. So it's gotta do much more with the emotions rather than reality,.... as it were. In short, sometimes it's better to manipulate elements in order to convey a point but only if it doesn't hurt anyone or falsifies anything. And in this case, people did think he was crazy for telling the OJ joke at the ESPYs. Still, I apologise if I have offended you. (Something Norm wouldn't approve)

Exactly. It's not the jokes that I love so much, because some are really bad, it's the character he played for so many years (an old rube) and HOW he gets to the jokes. He would digress so much before getting to the punchline that you forgot he was in the middle of a joke, so the punchline would catch you off-guard and hit harder. It's actually a principle of hypnosis called "Fractionation" that really sets him apart.

Sad part is i always knew of and enjoyed his tv shows ans movies but only found his stand up a few months before he passed. Couldn’t believe it when it happened, RIP Norm.
