thank you so much, so in short, crease tool is like a "flag", if later we applied smoothed mesh, then Maya will realize the "flag" and will not smoothed out those edges, I am correct?

Yeah, exactly. But it isn't a simple true or false flag. The crease tool allows for varying levels of crease.

But which one will be more useful to edit later? The Bevel adds more edges and vertices that have to be managed, whereas the smoothing seems to only visually add extra edges. Now is that only smoothed in Maya, or will the smoothing also appear in Unreal or Unity?

Whether they appear in engine depends on your export settings. There is obviously a cost associated with rendering more geometry. You're correct in that editing at a later time is easier to do with creasing. However, with creasing you are limited to how sharp or soft you can make the edges.
