I'm brand new to bass fishing and I think this is happening to my lake here in Georgia. The area near the bank has muck and all sorts of stuff kinda floating around. Lots of large bubbles too. About 20-30 foot wide along the bank. Water is dirtier there too.

Not sure. If you’ve had any rain it could just be the water has been stirred up/blown out in that area of the lake. Seems early for turnover. Usually takes several cool mornings and nights

@@PrestigeWorldwideFishing That's what I thought too, but we've had kind of a drought here this summer. No rain in the last couple of weeks as well. I didn't know what it was until I started to smell the decaying smell, but it's only in certain parts of the lake. It's not the entire lake and it's mainly around the shoreline at certain parts of the lake. I could be wrong because as I said I'm new to fishing but I do know that the places I've been catching bass the bass are not there anymore and I'm having trouble finding them

It could just be the lake is very stagnant with no rain and the heat is causing algae blooms of some sort. August-early october is the toughest time to catch bass because of high water temps and low oxygen. Good luck! Good fishing is coming soon

We have a highland reservoir and they release the water every weekend in October to get the water down for flood control and kayakers. The lake turns over for the whole month. A couple years ago they let the water out to fast & to much and killed a bunch of fish. Mostly walleye. But it’s tough fishing this lake the whole month. With less oxygen I’m guessing they don’t want to move much.

Wow that’s crazy. I didn’t think about the dam authority creating the turnover but that makes sense. Doesn’t have to be wind driven. I hope you are able to find a different lake this time of year

It happens on the Yazoo river. When the Mississippi river is high, the Yazoo doesnt flow. The river was completely covered with dead carp for weeks.😮

Crazy! I bet that would be a sight to see

do you have a video on finding the bait fish?
@corvette_jake7225 Жыл бұрын
Use a fast moving bait you can cover water with, crankbait jerkbait etc. As you fish it you will either snag shad as you run your bait through their school or you will spook the school and you will see them boil up to the surface. Once you find an area with schooling shad you can slow down your bait presentations and catch more fish. Or just buy electronics

No, I don’t. Are you looking for help finding them with fish finder or just how to find them in general?

@@corvette_jake7225 Thanks for the tips

@@PrestigeWorldwideFishing well since you asked, hehe. I guess both but mainly how to find the in general. Like times of year and temps that cause them to move and stage.

Gotcha. That might make a good video. Although they are nomadic and are more moving on instinct, but temperature does play a big roll on where they will be. Also, threadfin and gizzard Shad act differently… you got me thinking… I will put something together 😂
