Very interesting Jiu Jitsu > we’re talking extremely advanced Jiu Jitsu . Gordon Ryan is a real strategist ! I feel like for the last several years I am struggling so much when playing open guard and I dont have a clear plan. I am so looking forward to this DVD and Im sure its going to be another game changer. Thanks Gord, you da man bro

This is the biggest problem I have in Jiu jitsu. I just sort of wing it... I need to start working on my "game plan".
@amirkazemi25175 жыл бұрын
Gordons style is good for bigger dudes. I am not agile on the matt & I agree....you definitely need to have a plan instead of "lets just roll & see what happens". setting goals like....arm drag, butterfly sweep, etc will make a huge difference. especially if you get into the drivers seat, your chances of catching the opponent sleeping improves. he will get confused. the problem I have is I dont remain calm mentally & get caught up in the physical aspects, breathing, getting crushed in half guard for example. I need to remove myself from the physical parts & truly become relaxed. Another thing I am starting is rehearsing solo the entire move. This is my goal in 2020 : remain calm in my mind, rehearse 3 to 5 scenarios to where I have them memorized & stitch this into a game plan. I have two such moves memorized already (halfguard sweep from bottom, no gi baseball choke). I want to mix in more wrist locks & ankle locks & butterfly sweeps. Also, finally, the shoulder lock that Gordon does in conjunction with the butterfly sweep. practice more escapes from side control. this is the beginning of my game plan. 1. attack neck with baseball choke 2. half guard sweep. 3. arm drag to take back 4. wrist lock, ankle lock 5. butterfly sweep with the shoulder lock

Gordon ryan is the smartest bjj practitioner of all time. But he has to go into mma if he wants the big bucks. Being the best bjj guy is far from being great in mma. Its a huge advantage but he needs to add strikes as options to his muscle memory. I personally think he will dominate mma/ufc within a few years if he starts getting good mma coaching from the right coach soon. Just look how successful Tonon is in mma so far. Tonon still has to fight top guys with various mma skill sets, but he is well on his way. I think gordon can easily be more successful because he is a true scientific fighter and he trains like a fanatic. Step 1 is to get your heart into it, which he has done. Ryan has the mental game covered. Now he needs strength and speed to add to it. He has the hardest part done.
@nathantheophilus48562 жыл бұрын
True but with the stomch issues and his lack of dynamic explosiveness i think he would really enjoy staying in bjj and building a legacy there instead. He's making more money than a lot of ranked UFC fighters just from selling instructionals and getting sponsorships. there's no pressure for him to pursue brain damage this early on. Personally I wanna see him do one or two MMA fights but it's okay to wait until he's like in his early 30s, sort of how Buchecha is doing it.
