Things to focus for open guard 1. Guard retention 2.a Strong direct attacks to the legs against standing opponents who are pushing forward 2.b Using leglocks not to leglock but to off-balance and make opponent put hands or hips on the floor which enables reversals and wrestle ups with advantage 3. Off-balance and wrestle up against backing up opponent 4.a Butterfly sweeps with various grips for opponents on their knees 4.b Another option for opponents on their knees, get to your knees using technical standup, pull your opponents hands to the floor and attack guillotines or go behind to the back

I think Professor John has designed a curriculum No Gi system unlike anything seen in the grappling community, but the break down instructors are easy to understand each compartment. As Jujitsu and wrestling practitioners we all seen the techniques on an individual basis. Professor John wisdom and excellent insight has an overview of grappling that his will truly move grappling forward to another level. This is evolutionary! I’m going to invest in his system! Thank BJJ Fan for sharing !

1. Watch and take notes, learning the main mechanical points to each move 2. Try to summarize each system with heuristics and overarching themes 3. Drill with a non resisting partner 4. Roll with the intention of working that specific selection of techniques against opponents you are much better than 5. Titrate in difficulty of opponent until you can use this in competition

I'm the crazy guy who hangs upside down in the gym NO LONGER.

wrestling scramble on your double try to penitrate with lead foot between legs then drve through to your knee or near to knee on the mat into a duck walk steping around the out side and tripping for the back heel if they are in a better stance or more skiled wrestler .when your driving through with the lead leg into the duck walk as you clinch legs or hip thrust your hips into play finnishing the duck walk or if you have the strength .thrust to the knee pushing another duck step but from there come to standing then dump them ..if you do or dont get good penetration they sprawl fast ..watch the headlock but as your thrsting hips through you go around and the neck is working hard looking up and to the side as long as you take enough weight off them onto you so that you out weigh strong you can be succesfull even if its not pretty im not seeing the hip thrust to lift on your double or single

@@xkidmidnightx john actually was using a lot of shit marcelo used before he used it and john invented it. John invented the shoulder crunch sumi gaeshi that people claim he took from marcelo... and he invented the darce strangle which no one gives him credit for. There are videos out there doing this stuff from the mid 90's. Before john was too crippled he was fucking up and going toe to toe with the worlds best himself on the mat. John has invovated and invented so much technique in jiu jitsu besides leg locks that he doesn't get credit for because hes humble and doesn't correct people on these things.

@@bradbettis9210 this is true..It cracks me up when people see him as a guy who just popped on the scene last 5 years ago showing leglocks when he has been there since MMA got big in the states.
