I'm so thankful for this tutorial as well. I just picked up the MPC Key 37 which IS the MPC ONE+, with a keyboard. I've been all over the place looking for tutorials for the Key 37, but I was searching for wrong thing. Instead, I searched for MPC ONE+ tutorials and voila, however, this video was the most thoroughly explained one out there. It was explained in a very certain way that I could understand, as-well-as detailed. This guy definitely had a knack and is awesome at it.

@JoeybonezАй бұрын
What are the pros and cons of doing that?
@remyvegamediaАй бұрын
@ With pad parameters you can copy the same sample and edit start and end points without affecting either the original slice or copy. With non-destructive slices, each copy of a slice is changed by editing the sample in the track. There's probably a lot more to it and I'm just getting reacquainted with MPC stuff, but that's the main one for me.

Before I got my MPC my brother gave me the MPC 2 software. I used keys to pads to play the typing keys on my MacBook like 16 MPC pads . I say it was easy to figure out less than 10 minutes of me using MPC software for the first time in my life I put together drum patterns, instruments and had a beat from scratch going. Everything else was all down hill from there way easier than when I first use FL studios lol FL was 10x harder. MPC software everything is in your face if you have common sense and can read you can figure it out . When I got my MPC live 2 I already knew how to use it because it was like the software. The software is designed sort of like a digital MPC .

I noticed, that somewhere around the first third (I'm not quite sure where exactly) you happen to create en midi program to your track - by accident it seems. Right next you make sure to delete that program, because it was considered a mistake. I never thought it would be actually "created" and take up space by just swiching program type on the "sequence-bar"... Is that true or did I misunderstand? One other realted question: Is there a place to get an overview of the whole project and all that's included - in one view (very important!) Maybe in the MPC software on the PC...(?) Thanks again for sharing your greate knowledge and experience 🙂

Are the maschine and mpc workflows super different? And if which so which do you prefer
@nervouscooks Жыл бұрын
I think there are definite similarities but I would say the Maschine is easier to get going with. I actually love the MPC now I understand it but at first I wasn’t crazy about it. I would say the MPC feels more complex but also a little more capable. It sort of does everything and I definitely found a few limitations on the Maschine. Ultimately though it comes down to personal preference. If you’re thinking of buying I’d definitely recommend finding a local retailer and getting hands on with both before parting with any cash. My opinion is just from my experience and needs but you might want something totally different. 👍🙂
@comparisonisthethiefofjoy9452 Жыл бұрын
@@nervouscookswhat limitations do you see in the maschine?
@nervouscooks Жыл бұрын
@@comparisonisthethiefofjoy9452 nothing major but the MPC just gives you more options. You can auto sample, easy to make samples mono which is an odd thing the Maschine doesn’t do. You can layer up to four samples each with their own effects and offset the sample layers to play at different times. It’s just a device that for everything I’ve needed so far it has delivered. I’m sure it has its flaws though. They all do. I totally love the Maschine too and the pads on those are definitely the best. 🙂

Your video makes me consider selling all of my stuff and giving up the idea of making electronic music. I have a lot of modular and some synths and drummachines and gadgets and wanted to finally start sampling sounds of that and making some tracks and considered the MPC (or Digitakt) - but watching this gives me very strong "this is not what i want to do" feelings. I know what i want to achieve but this workflow is terrible. I am really shocked. Should mention that i also never used a DAW, i started with all the now classic Roland Machines and Synths and an MS20 in the 1990s and only recently started to buy modular and some Behringer and other boxes. Well yea but this is terrible.
@RooftopKoreansMusic22 сағат бұрын
Well A) this MPC is terrible, I bought one and hate it, and B) he is terrible at explaining it, it takes him WAY to long to slog through things that are very very simple before moving on. That isn't even just him, it's a human phenomenon, if you want to learn the finer points about ANYTHING you seemingly have to sit through people belaboring the most basic information that everyone already knows OVER AND OVER in the hopes that you'll learn something new. For instance, I'm LITERALLY just trying to figure out how you have multiple MIDI clips on this piece of trash... it seems like YOU CAN'T, you have to make a new "sequence" which means you need to copy EVERYTHING along with a copy of the first MIDI track JUST to be able to keep all the layers with a new clip... instead of, you know, just allowing the user to play various midi clips. Also the touch screen on this is horrible, AND the software that it runs on is actually free and you can just download it and use it on a laptop... however, if you want software integrated WITH this thing, that is NOT free... you'd think there would be a way to simply output that screen to a monitor so that you could see it and navigate it with a mouse. NOPE, what you CAN do is buy additional software that makes this thing into a controller, but runs off of a computer, rather than USING THE *****ing software in the hardware you JUST BOUGHT and letting you control THAT with a mouse and monitor. Absolutely horrible design through and through.

@@RooftopKoreansMusic What do you prefer to use ?
@RooftopKoreansMusic21 сағат бұрын
@@snörre23 WELL, ableton live, but it's also shit... the reason I bought this was albton CANNOT send midi AND have it sync with drums (or anything) in the DAW. Abelton Live is so bad that Midi out (some ***ing how) can even have two hardware units sync without messing with a "hardware compensation," which sounds impossble, but I've seen and heard it first hand.. it's PATHETIC. There are numerous hour long videos on KZbin were people talk about how "they fixed Ableton's timing issues" only to upload a subsequent video a month later saying "wait, never mind... still a HUGE PROBLEM" Other DAWS like bitwig can... but bitwig isn't as developed as ableton live.
