Thank You for this. All my life I've wondered about Ms. Montessori and her accomplishments because one time when I was very young my mother briefly considered sending me to a Montessori school. She didn't, but I've always felt Education is one of the critical keys to success in life and I've wondered what I missed, and possibly could have become if her decision was different.

I can recite pi to 3.141592, but until now, nobody has told me where pi comes from and I didn't realise it was even a valid question to ask. Thank you.

One of the defects of traditional education is the it desensitizes you to the sorts of questions that you can ask.

"Ms. Rand said these words and the quote above during a Q&A period following her talk entitled The Moratorium on Brains. She also spoke very highly of Montessori in other discussions and publications (such as The Comprachicos), emphasizing that Dr. Montessori's work aided a child in developing his cognitive faculty - that is, his mind." Thank you ARI. $

There's also a couple of good comments on Montessori in Ayn Rand's Answers.

Recall having 'moral science' classes during my 1st grade school; gratefully, these classes covered lessons on behaviours such as 'polly is polite' and maintaining self hygiene and cleanliness; there is huge potential to include ethics to children at a younger age itself and not sure if Montenssori explored this aspect

Downvoted. The title suggests that somewhere in this video the principles of the Montessori program will be discussed, but more time is spent promoting the cult of the woman known as Montessori then the actual program. Why do we need to know all the details of her life, her preferences, her disagreements, in order to understand what principles are at the foundation of the program? It sounds like a cult. You make it sound like a cult.
