Hi love ur videos I’ve been playing on corals website and they play 8 deck shoes but put the cut card at about half way is this a bad idea to play?
@A1-BJ

Yes, the penetration is terrible. For an 8 deck game, I would not play unless they cut off less than 2 decks.

Hi! Can you explain why negative count means you are probably going to lose? What makes a deck filled with low cards more likely that the player will lose

A good amount of the value that a counter uses to leverage losing odds comes from the 3:2 payout you get from a two card blackjack (a natural). Can't be making many (if any) naturals if most/all tens and aces are gone.

Agreed ⬆️ There is also a better chances for double downs working out and more dealer busts as they have to draw until they have at least 17 whereas we can stop whenever

Great Video. One question about bet spread . When the true count is high enough , but the table is full , I assume that the same amount of bets goes in one spot instead of two, Is it the same ? Or Im missing something
@A1-BJ
@A1-BJ 2 ай бұрын
The EV will be slightly different. The thing about spreading to two hands is a lot of times, you win one and lose one. So the variance is less compared to playing just 1. Bit otherwise, yes, if the table is too busy and you only have one spot to play, just adjust for that.

A few questions…. Basic strategy says split 4s vs 6. However, if you’re at your max bet already, why not double down 8v6, if you’re over +1? Which takes precedence, the split or the double down? Other question…. This is not meant to challenge you. I admire your dedication and your teaching and I have learned so much from you. Your students at your “real job” are lucky to have you as their teacher. Last week, I asked when to play one hand and when to play two. I didn’t get an answer, so I dug deeper, and found an answer in Wong’s book. He said play one hand if you’re alone, and play two hands if you’re not alone at the table. His reasoning is with one hand, you get a better count, because if you play two, you’re getting your second hand without information from the first hand. But if there are other players, then you want to get more of those high cards, so play two. I’d like to know more why you choose to play 2 hands at plus one. I’m a student of the game and I seek knowledge, so don’t take this as a challenge, but an opportunity to learn together. I watch every video you make and I’m a big fan of yours. Thank you.

@1967Camaro 4s split because you can get more money on the table than just doubling due to being able to double down after the split (not always, but sometimes you'll get it, thus increasingbyour EV.). Plus, if it were just a hard 8, you'd have to wait for a plus 2 to double down for that deviation. There is an order of operations, Insurance, surrender, split, double, the hit/stand. I spread to two at a true 1 because that's where I gain the advantage, and it helps get to N0 faster.

Anecdote:the first time I got a true 3 I increase my bets and loose them all. 😢
@A1-BJ
@A1-BJ 2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, that's part of it. At a +3 you have about a 1% edge over the house. So you will still lose about 49/100 hands at a true plus 1. But over 100,000 hands.. that 1% really adds up. But those who want instant gratification, the game might not be for them.

What if the tc is 23 and we use 1/2 deck TC...3.5 decks left 46/5?
@A1-BJ
@A1-BJ 4 күн бұрын
46/5 would be if 3.5 decks have been played, not 3.5 decks left. 3.5 decks left would be 46/7 (3.5 times 2)
