changing the shower head to a hard water filter has changed everything and sleeping with a beard bonnet after moisturizing at night. no split ends or excessive dryness.

My beard is medium to high porosity on my ends. Over the years, I have learned to keep my beard in loose twists when I wash and deep condition and when I sleep: Satin Pillowcases. This works for me because my beard has become long enough to have it in just three twists: One in the front middle and one on each side of my under beard. The sides of my beard are much thinner and do not grow long so I do not twist that part. After I wash and condition in the twists, I pat dry and then oil and condition. That is the only time when I comb. When it is almost dry, I either twist or bundle it back up. My beard does not take long to dry because it has medium to high porosity. This seems to train my hairs to be elongated even though I think that my hairs would be considered mostly 4B 4A. This way I avoid over manipulation which always leads to split ends and breakage. Especially because of Covid-19, I had been keeping my beard bundled away in one big loose braid that I roll under and tuck inside of itself without any ties or bands. This way it looks like I have a much shorter beard when I take off my mask. And I do not have to worry about my beard looking crazy from wearing a mask all day. This protective style has allowed my beard to grow longer than it has ever been: 14'' to 15" when stretched out. I only wear it out on special occasions. Wearing it out everyday would probably cause a lot of wear and tear and extra dryness and I would need to keep it much shorter. When my beard is much shorter it is actually harder to keep it in just three twists or to keep it in one big loose braid. I just fade the sides of my beard near my ears and cheek line and lightly trim my moustache. The rest of it is near terminal length now. I just trim off a half an inch once in a blue moon when it is fully stretched out. I allow it to have nearly its natural shape.

@Bearded Existence This A Great Video Bro Cause I Be Thinking I Need To Use Cold Water Rinses To Get The Blood Flowing In My Face More And To Close Off My Pores To Seal In That Moisture After Applying Product. Or After My Night Routine In The Morning I Use Cold Water Rinse. I Feel Like The Warm Or Hot Water Makes Any Product Penetrate Better As Well As A Good Wash Routine!! Sometimes My Product Will Penetrate Half Way Or All The Way Either At The Top Of My Face Or Bottom Of My Face Once Skin Has Absorbed All The Product Should I Just Lock It In With The Shea Butter When Skin Looks Dry Or Open Pores And Apply Oil Again? My Skin Becomes Dry After Awhile Or After I Wake Up My Skin Absorbs The Oil And Shea Butter.

@irmiyaawilliams78003 жыл бұрын
great video! I have low porosity but I have been using loc for the longest. Should I give lco a try? And on average how often would you recommend I wash out product (I use oil+butter daytime and night)?
@BeardedExistence3 жыл бұрын
If your routine has been working and your beard feels and looks healthy stay with your routines. If you are using just water, oil and butter then use the butter last . How often you wash depends on a lot including your lifestyle, how harsh your beard wash is etc.

Debating if I should cut mines and start over. I think I destroyed the hairs using just for men...... I’ve found a better alternative now. But my beard has been the same size for over a year now. Hasn’t moved. Still have small patch spots on my cheeks and shit. Smh 🤦🏾♂️

@@BeardedExistence just seems brittle . A lot of breakage. I have oils, beard wash, beard butter, beard balm... nothing is working. The only part that will grow is my mustache area and my chin area. I have to keep trimming the chin area because that area grows too fast. Cheek area is patchy.

Im a bit confused with my beard now thoe for me my products penetrate my hear pretty fast but also stay in "long" i have to reapply after 8-12h depending on the day

@biggmeechbtb3 жыл бұрын
And the crazy thing is when I’m rinsing with cold water my beard feels dry 🥺🤔 so this means I locked all the dryness inside ?
@BeardedExistence3 жыл бұрын
The cold rinse if you have a low porosity beard will make it harder for your products to get past the cuticle and into the hair shaft and leads to a dry brittle beard

Under your chin being really curly is something that I deal with too. When your beard gets a little longer it will help a little. How long have you been growing your beard?
