I'm a respiratory therapy student and I've always struggled with school work since the beginning of highschool due to needing a more detailed explanation that I felt was hard to get. Pharmacy resident here, this was by far the best intro to vent setting and complications i seen, better than the RT that taught us. From a pharmacological standpoint, factors that decrease Cardiac Output such as tidal volume, RR, and peep at the higher end can result in altered pharmacological effect by high E drug that are flow dependent, including phenytoin.

Depending on where you work, Sometimes there may be a few months that goes by and you haven't been scheduled to work in the ICU. Then one day, BAM, you're taking care of 5 patients on life support. I have quite a bit of experience, so I don't usually have a problem when thrown into a new area of care that I may not have been working in for awhile, but, others that may be new or may have been doing PFT's etc. for several months. We always want to maintain the trust of the person giving us orders.
