Pistol Wizard is a scammer re-posting Ben’s videos. It’s not Ben.
@pistolwizardATX

100% correct that I'm not Ben, but to say these videos are just reposts is false. Take a look at the originals on Instagram, which I always link to in the description. You should notice some differences within the first 20 seconds: I have edited the originals to be more concise and engaging and to have better balanced audio. In many cases, I splice in footage from other videos or comparisons of Ben's good vs. bad demonstrations to better illustrate what's he's talking about. Again, look at the video descriptions and what I link to. In what way am I a scammer if I'm crediting the source and editing Ben's IG videos (which do not get posted to YT otherwise) in order to promote his books? Who does the affiliate commission come from, Ben, or Amazon? Have you taken the time to look at how Amazon's affiliate commission structure works vs. author royalties? For every book that gets sold via this channel, what is the ratio of what Ben makes from that sale vs. what I make? Come on, say it. When people ask about products directly (grip enhancer, holsters, etc.) in comments, I typically look up the product on the Pro Shop and link them there. I do not earn any affiliate commission from that. I am working for free when I do that. Is that so offensive to you that you must get offended on someone else's behalf? One of the criteria for Fair Use is whether that use causes the source to lose sales. Am I costing Ben sales, or bringing him sales by linking to his books on Amazon and products at the Ben Stoeger Pro Shop? Please take the time to avail yourself of public information and apply some critical thought before you continue making slanderous statements.

@@pistolwizardATX I think you mean libel. Fair use involves significantly altering content for transformative purposes (such as commentary, critique, comedy, etc.). You’re literally just copying and splicing together media, which I doubt is fair use. Even if I’m wrong, the thing I find more questionable is that commenters continue to think you are Ben…yet you don’t seem too interested in correcting them. You can say it’s in your descriptions, but that’s just a cop out. Moreover, it would be a different matter if the posts were from a variety of training sources with new information added. It would still be derivative, but at least it wouldn’t be a daily dump of some else’s stuff (slightly altered as it may be). It would also be another thing if your channel had a significant amount of original content. As is, you just seem to be promoting your own business interests without demonstrating proficiency yourself. Even your site has numerous unaccredited imagines from Ben’s material. I have an idea. Shoot the drills and demonstrate the concepts. Smart phones come with cameras.

@@pistolwizardATX And “…that you must get offended on someone else’s behalf.” Pshh. Yeah, I’m not in the least bit offended by any of this. I don’t speak for Ben, and he certainly doesn’t need me to come to his defense. Nope. I’m just some schlub calling shenanigans as I see it.

@@Tracer83"yet you don’t seem too interested in correcting them." From my point of view, it's annoying, but doesn't help or hurt me. My target audience isn't the same as Ben's, so it wasn't worth my time. On the other hand, people accusing me of being a scammer... "Even your site has numerous unaccredited imagines from Ben’s material." Where are those? I'll be happy to accredit them. "As is, you just seem to be promoting your own business interests without demonstrating proficiency yourself." That's one way to look at it, but my target audience for training classes does not come from this channel. I specialize in training new shooters interested in self defense/concealed carry up to C-B class (plus relevant legal and defensive material) in 24 hours, refer them out to Ben's Fundamentals class and the nearest GM, and offer a defensive course to get them to B-A class if they don't want that. It's my understanding that Ben doesn't train unclassified shooters, and again my audience is interested in defense, not competition. Over the course of the intro class though, I demonstrate to them that competition skills are widely applicable in defense. And think about it for a moment: wouldn't these videos discredit me to my own students if they did watch them and saw that I couldn't demonstrate in class? From what I see, most defensive instructors scoff at competition shooters, not promote them.

what do you think of laser bullets for dry fire - bad habit forming for over confirmation?
@swiftaudi
@swiftaudi Жыл бұрын
You don’t need them. But if you use them do not focus on the laser output. It’s easy to be distracted by that laser but it’s a bad habit to focus on. What issue are you trying to solve maybe I can help.
