It’s interesting to me that you praise their newest collection so highly bc I was pretty disappointed. It looks like Vetements or any other street style brand but just like it’s 2 years late. I admired the elegance tech wear and I agree they had to add some more creative dimension in their collections but for me AW23 was a big miss

I feel like because they’ve grown such a strong foundation, you know that the minimal tech-looking pieces are still going to come to retail. But, I enjoyed the fact that they tried to make more of a splash with the fashion show. However, I’m still curious to know how much of it will be coming to stores, simply because I don’t think it resonates with their current clientele as well as their past collections, but it’s not a bad idea to do a customer acquisition-based collection, over a retention-based collection every once in a while to grow their customer base. Though I fully expect them to go back to elegant tech wear again soon ngl

Alyx now occupies the space off white occupied , how virgil had off white but was creative directer at LV , and alyx is also a street lux brand owned by williams who is also creative director at givenchy

Why do you think that? Bcs for me, I don’t think they are that similar. Off-white is still doing well, but they have updated their look quite significantly (and I don’t think it would’ve been successful if they hadn’t). Alyx is much less graphic than off-white too, so imo even the aesthetics of the brands are quite different 🤷

@@understitchYT its not the brands are similar aesthetically or in the message the portray , but that they occupy the same space in the designer world especially price wise , both are more accesible than your standard designer labels. both do have an industrial emphasis , and also there are many similarities between mathew williams and virgil abloh themselves let alone they both ran a label together.
