I love seeing you have this podcast! I hope Mr. Callaway can read this or respond, but I grew up in cedar creek, tx… as a kid I saw him at a local gas station come to find out we lived close by his old ranch… my dad is an older Mexican man hardly speaks English but he would watch wrestling with my brother and I all the time… we would see him and my dad would scare us keeping Kayfabe to not bother him or he would put us in a casket… he had interesting name for the undertaker,…but I got him to sign a magazine for me at my local heb in bastrop way back in the day… I have his deadman action figure jejeje still have the magazine he signed for me.

This was all on Vince. They could've easily pulled the trigger at Wrestmainia 31 instead of losing to HHH and Taker beating Bray Wyatt. The Wyatt match would've made better sense had he still been undefeated and lost to Wyatt to give him the rub. Once he lost to Lesnar there was no reason not to do the match. WWE did a great job introducing him at SS. He should've faced HHH at Royal Rumble and been in the rumble match, where he could've had a stare down with Taker and teased their Wrestlemania match and just build it from there. Vince blew it with Hogan & Flair for Wrestlemania VIII too.

1. Vince is an idiot 2. No one talks about Sting's gimmick change in the right context. The Crow movies show a man coming back from the dead for revenge bc the adversaries took everything from him. Sting's gimmick was that nWo took WCW from him, fundamentally changed the promotion, so he came back as a crow type figure to avenge what Hogan & the nWo took from him. 3. It is too late for Taker v Sting just bc of age and physiques. It wouldn't hit the same and it wouldn't be a real match. It'd have to be a cinematic match and it just wouldn't be the same.
@zachsabbath1

Everyone talks about Sting's gimmick change in the right context--that's why they refer to it as Crow Sting. That's why they make sure to reference that he didn't speak for a year. Every time that era is retold--that's exactly how it's presented. Thanks for explaining the plot of the Crow--after it was released 30 years ago. People seem to forget the context that Sting showed up to Starrcade 97 out of shape. The match wouldn't have hit the same in 2017 either when both could barely move. 1997? Sure, 2017? No. It would've been a nostalgia pop and clunky old man wrestling. "Vince is an idiot," yeah, but not because he didn't deepthroat the wet dreams of a mark's childhood.

I think the Vince thing is just that Sting was the face of WCW throughout its whole post-Crockett run. that's why HHH went over him at WM. just to stick it to WCW one last time like all the other guys that got buried during Invasion. his pettiness and unwillingness to do what was right for business is one of his biggest flaws as a person. While obviously it is Taker’s decision whether or not he steps in a ring again, I do have to say that people temper their expectations based on things like age. Nobody was expecting Sting to have a Great American Bash against Ric Flair classic at this point in time. You’re just happy to see him in the ring doing something. Taker doing cinematic matches is the answer here. The one he had with AJ was unbelievably entertaining. Now, if Taker considers that a step down and is not something he wants to do, so be it. But I think most fans would be very happy to just see him in storylines and the Undertaker character lends itself to those cinematic matches probably more so than any other. The supernatural elements to the character make the possibilities endless.

It always depends on if you stay in good Shape, if you really want to have great Matches and of course how many injuries your Body took over the Years. Sting vs. Triple h at wrestlemania instead of undertaker was a blatant sign of how oblivious vince was to what people actually wanted to see. Sting went over a year without saying a word or wrestling a single match and was the biggest star in the business. Undertaker was a living legend as a great performer and worker. When I see this video "Six Feet under" I understand that feeling the itch of wanting too like me the desire to become a WWE wrestler. I have had the dream of becoming a pro wrestler a WWE star and be unique and tell stories in my career if one way of continuing his legacy to represent someone that has the level of passion and love for the business Iike I would. It would be an absolutely an honor. To have his help to get in the business to make him proud and do it for everyone who believes in me and those who don't, for me too.
