The reason why he says "Goodbye" instead of "now die" is because Asgore is a just and honorable king and knows it might be himself that dies. And that's fair. After all, he's sacrificed his soul for his people. What more is a body? At least then his duty will be fulfilled.

I think you overdid it a bit with the reverb. It works with the Choir but it becomes very muddy when a bunch of instruments come in

Yeah, it's tricky to get the right amount of reverb. The instruments are just so dry. I also use a lot of reverb to hide the "fake" sound of the instruments. And I like it sounding like it's in a big space.
